Yesterday:
Breakfast - porridge made with muesli and water (don't like raw muesli...)
Lunch - large bowl of Scotch Broth (onions, carrots, turnip, leeks, barley, butter beans)
Dinner - sausage stew with potatoes and peas
No green leafies :( but I'll make up for that today.
Snacks - none - I'm on a weight loss thing (NOT a diet!) and it's working so don't want to give up...

So far today:
Breakfast (on the move) - Nak'd Bar (aren't they great?)
Lunch - I'm just about to make lentil soup
Dinner - will be cauliflower cheesley (cheezley sauce for family, grated for me), salady stuff (watercress, dark green leaves, celery, peppers etc.) and chips for family (toast for me)

Actually this doesn't look as healthy as we usually eat.... Hmm.... This could be a good wee exercise to keep me on my toes - following up this thread!:)

i've had a terrible day eating wise!
going to get back on track tomorrow!

1 mango
1 banana
some raisins and dried apricots
loads of garlic bread
about 10 spring rolls
a green leafy salad, with sun dried tomatos and pine nuts
starburst

actually, not quite as bad as i thought! at least there are *some* healthy things in there! not too good as far as my raw transition is concerned though!

I had a day with mainly Middle Eastern food yesterday:

Breakfast: A banana, some grapes and nuts and a glass of juice. It's good to have an occasional day without sunflower bread with sunflower spread! :)
Snack: Vegan Fajitas (bought at Ikea! They also have other vegan options now).
Lunch: Pita w/hummus from a Lebanese cafe. I still wonder why their hummus so often taste better than the one I make...
Travel food (I normally don't eat while I'm in a car, but yesterday was an exception): Falafel, salad and baba ganoush from a takeaway place. Pistachio nuts and a pear.

Thanks for the positive thoughts but its the quantities that concerns me... a whole 200g pot of hoummous with a whole packet of celery; 8 falafel; choc bar AND fruit & nut bar?! and the amount of rice in my stirfry - nearly twice the amount you get in a takeaway portion. I'm hoping I will naturally eat a little less as I get used to the foods. I'm loving them so much I jsut want to eat loads.

I think I'm going to keep a food diary. Then again, if I compare to a typical omni day of mine, complete with fast food and high fat dressings and other dairy snacks... urgh *shudder*.

I ate loads when I first went vegan, and it settled out. Like you say, the foods are so much yummier and your body probably recognises that they are less toxic and wants to stock up! It doesn't sound like you're eating too much to me, but if it's not 'normal' for you then it will settle down if it needs to. Don't worry...just enjoy the yumminess :)

Ikea - good for vegans?! Last time I went, I had plain pasta and passata. Not the most inspiring meal! I'm due another trip though, I'll have to have words :D
