I've looked in a few grocery stores and I can't for the life of me find vegan cheese. There's "soy cheese" but it has a milk protein in it so it isn't vegan friendly =(

Don't stress Annie, it isn't that good anyways, i don't find sandwiches or other foods incomplete without cheese when there are so many other yummy things to add :)
Some people enjoy the taste of soycheese, however, most of it is pretty expensive and highly processed stuff, so don't feel too left out.
Also, why don't you eat lunch??

I guess I just miss cheese in general to be honest...so I thought mabye the vegan cheese would help vill that void.
I don't eat lunch b/c my days usually consist of: breakfast, classes from 9:40 till 1pm then I have time for a snack, then I run, then I shower and by then it's 4 so I just wait for dinner =/

I bought the Toffutti mozzarella slices. It doesn't have milk protein.
To be honest, it doesn't taste like cheese. I bought it on a whim and I was trying to use it up before it went bad.

I couldn't find any for a long time either. It tastes very different, but for a cheesy-type flavor, you could try nutritional yeast.

You know what, I don't think nutritional yeast tastes cheesy at all. It has a nice, savoury taste, but not cheesy.

Tigerlily-
I agree that Nut. yeast tastes very different from cheese, but I made "mac and cheese" with it and the flavor was similar (but had its own distrinct taste). I guess you're right about the savoury taste though...that describes it well.

I agree with you guys - it is different - but I really like it - a while ago this summer i made a grilled cheese using some semi thick cheese sauce I created using nutritional yeast and brown rice flower, mustard, other spices and i really enjoyed it. im so glad cheese isnt an option now because i love nutritional yeast and i would have never discovered it before

sometimes, but usually i have got it from health food stores, it can also be called savoury yeast, or torula yeast. It comes in usually a powder or flake form.
