I'm imagining thinly slice potatoes and perhaps a bit of cheezley would got well on top of this whilst it's baking.

oh god yeah!!! damn, wish i'd have thought of that before. i was also thinking at the time, maybe a mix of crushed crisps, breadcrumbs and cheezly, to make like a crispy topping, but i couldn't be bothered with that. oh, and i used this mini casserole dish instead of a loaf tin, so i didn't need to grease it. and it made just enough for 1 person. perfect! :)

What countries don't have baked beans?:eek::eek:

loads! i know italy doesn't cause i'll have a placement there in a few years and will be seriously deprived, i don't know how i'll survive! and my french penpal has never even heard of them. she's coming over in a couple of weeks, but i'm not sure it's fair to introduce them to her if she won't be able to have them again...

get this from wiki france...

'A typical dish from the english breakfast'?? And it only mentions England as a place that sells baked beans...does that mean you don't get them anywhere else?! Do they sell them in America and Canada? omg, if they don't, that's a travesty!!!

We have them here in New Zealand too. Yummo. We use Whole Earth organic baked beans which I *think* are made in the UK.
:)
Mmmm. I think I will have them for lunch.

My naturopath put me on it. I have a chronic illness related anaemia and very low ferritin. It works a treat and doesn't hurt my tum. It tastes foul tho, and so I put it in orange juice. :) It is the only iron supplement that works for me.

Here are the links to it. http://www.spatone.com/en.php?section=home and http://www.spatoneshop.co.uk/home.php

I use Spatone too, around the time when I am due to donate blood. I agree, it tastes bloody awful! Kind of like blood. AND yes, lol, I know what blood tastes like because I've nicked my finger by accident before and sucked it. Sounds gross lol.

I have chronic anaemia/very low ferritin too - I may give this a go :) Every iron supplement I've tried has made my stomach really bad. Hoepfully it'll work as I hate feeling like this !

Add to the day before yesterday like two bites of weetabix with Sainsburys Unsweetened Soya Milk...had to throw the rest away because it was so gross. Yet to find a soy milk I like that isn't sweetened...darn my sweet tooth.

Yesterday:

Mixed Berry Trek Bar
Banana x2

Haricot bean salad (haricot beans, carrot, tomato, cucumber) w/red pepper dressing
Salt & Vinegar Soy Crisps
Banana

Apple
Mixed Berry Trek Bar

Tagine (chickpeas, aubergine, carrots, tomatoes, tomato puree)

Tea with oat milk x1
