Had a horrible experience ingesting dairy products today...went out for lunch with my mum as a test to see if I'm over the disordered eating patterns I've had for most of my life. Thought the meal tasted odd...later found out there was butter AND milk in it. I also found a piece of bacon in my side salad. I sent that back and got a new one, but found out the rest too late. I wanted to cry. I did cry. I feel so unclean, so disgusting. It's my fault, I should never have gone to the restaurant, I'm so selfish and pathetic :(

Consoled myself with a lovely tofu stir fry for tea but I just feel like I want to claw off my own skin and get all the dairy out of me...

aww Skylark, it sounds like such a rough day for you. Don't be too hard on yourself you had no idea what was in there. I hope everything went well with your mom despite this and your day gets better! :HUGS:

Thank you Ella - it's just so frustrating when you specifically say VEGAN and explain what that is in great detail, then talk to the same person you explained it to afterwards and have them tell you they made a ****ing SOUP with butter and milk...a TOMATO soup *explodes*

Sigh, anyway, my mum felt really bad about it and spent the rest of the day apologising to me. I don't blame her at all as she was only trying to help me, and it was her favourite restaurant so I felt I had to go so she fells doubly guilty about that. I still love her though, even if she is an omni

I'd definitely complain to J Sheeky flying plum. And when they have improved their options to your satisfaction I'll go and eat there!

Today I had a weetabix, a banana and some blueberries for breakfast then starved all day because I didn't get a chance to eat.

Ate out at Pepperton and had red wine, fried plantain, quinoa with stir fried tofu and vegetables, then mocha cake and tea. (Then malibu! :o)

yesterday...

brunch: went to a restaurant that friends have sworn repeatedly has vegan options, but I've been before and never seen much of anything. so we gave it a try again and this time there were TOO MANY options! so I ordered everything: biscuits w/ tvp & veggie "sausage" gravy, nut. yeast encrusted tofu, and a huge strawberry pancake. coffee with soy milk. took half the meal home for leftovers.

snack: blue corn chips & peach mango salsa, diet pepsi

dinner at parents house: veggie stir-fry, seasoned rice cooked in red wine

dessert: apple pie w/ bourbon soaked raisins & walnuts, black chai tea

back at home: a beer

Today for breakfast I had a whole tub of houmous with a massive red pepper and a tiny cucumber!

One peanut chew piece and a soft centre chocolate with a cup of tea, some soy sauce coated seeds and two crisps.

Can't decide what to have for the evening meal but I'll be having red wine with it.
