The stearic acid could be one to look out for, unless the packaging states vegetarian.
Not that i'd want to eat them after reading about those food colourings!

A boo, so it could be animal? :( I never think about acids, I only look out for gelatine and E 120 in sweets. I don't have the packaging here, but it is described in detail on Wikipedia. No Vegetarian sign. :(

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but i've just looked up the ingredients in my animal free shopper guide, and stearic acid comes under the glossary of animal subtances :(

why have they put them as suitable for vegetarians and not vegans? Stearic acid comes from animal fat! (well in this case anyway)

I'm thinking it might be an error. Swizzels has a few sweets that look like they're vegan from the ingredients listed, but aren't listed as vegan on their website. Maybe they haven't been arsed to check whether all their sweets are vegan or not and have listed the ones they haven't checked as not vegan.
