Thanks Julila, that dressing sounds great!

Sinarei- how do you get nutritional yeast to stick to the popcorn? When I try it falls it off to the bottom of the bowl.

Yeah, a lot of it does tend to fall off if used by itself. I've found that drizzling melted soy margarine and/or shoyu (soy sauce) on the popcorn and then sprinkling it with nutritional yeast helps it stick a little better :)

I hope it is! I was at a friend's and he had bought it specifically so that I could have some dessert as well. A quick scan of the ingredients led me to assume that it is vegan:

Water, Mango (15.5%), Sugar, Raspberry Puree (6.5%), Glucose-Fructose Solids, Blueberry Puree (3%), Blackberry Juice from Concentrate (1.5%), Inulin, Raspberry Juice Concentrate, Stabilizers (Pectin, Locust Bean Gum), Lemon Juice Concentrate, Elderberry Juice

Please don't tell me that I was wrong

Ben & Jerry's apparently also do a mango-only sorbet, which might be vegan as well.

On a cycle tour of around 350 miles I stayed a couple of nights at Bridges Youth Hostel, which is on the Shropshire / Welsh border up in the Stiperstones hills. Tough to get there, but the exhiliration, views and sense of achievement makes my aching legs worthwhile.

The hostel warden was fine creating a vegan meal for me. A mixmash of vegetables and beans, and then presented me with a dilemma over dessert. She grows most of the veg she uses and that included rhubarb. She offered all the hostellers a rhubarb crumble saying how it was organic and homegrown. It's been ages since I had rhubarb (It has a lot of oxalic acid, which combines with calcium to make calcium oxalate, which can lead to kidney stones if you consume a lot of it regularly) but wondered about the crumble ingredient. She produced a block of Stork margarine she uses. Ugh - I nearly declined remembered the fish oils that Stork used to have in the ingredients. (OK, Stork being solid is hydrogenated fats too, so is bad, but sometimes its necessary to use hard fats for cooking) To my astonishment, the ingredients were all veggie - maybe vegan. So I enjoyed a bowl of rhubarb crumble - with soya milk instead of cow juice custard - and smiled at childhood memories!
