I think zinc is good stengthening the immune system, which has to help with fighting off a flu.

i never know if i have the flu or a cold anyway, and zinc is proven to help shorten the length of a cold. i find when i take zince everyday i never seem to get sick, so it is probably better as a preventative measure.

either way, i hope you feel better soon, yogini!

Breakfast:
-Cream of wheat made with soymilk, with brown sugar
-Pear
-Almonds

Snack:
-Broccoli dipped in roasted pepper hummus

Lunch:
-Whole wheat pasta topped with TVP and tomato sauce
-Baby carrots
-Duece de Leche Luna Bar

Snack:
-Whole grain oat bread with cinamon raisin PB

Dinner:
-Salad: Romaine lettuce, plum tomato slices, 1/2 a red pepper, baby carrots, low fat dressing
-BBQ Riblets
-Brown rice
Dessert: Carrot Cake Cliff Bar

Later:
An apple or a pear

breakfast - tofu scramble w/lite tofu, garlic, portabella mushrooms, fresh hot chunky salsa, spices/soymilk served with avacado slices. 2 slices soy bacon. cup of coffee w/soycreamer and a cup of coffee w/cocoa and soycreamer. omega nut mix - cranberries, walnuts, almonds, pepitas.

2 peices chocolate

4 woven wheat crackers w/a slice of soycheeze and a pickle

dinner (indian takeaway) - bhajis and samosa w/chutney. rice and chenna masala over aloo tikki. naan. cup of indian tea w/sugar.

maybe a Sexy Lowfat Vanilla cupcake w/raspeberries later...homemade from the cookbook, Vegan Cupcakes Take over the World!

Breakfast:
Cream of rice cereal (made with soy milk) with maple syrup and ground flax
Cup of coffee with soy milk

Lunch:
A few pieces of roasted potatoes and carrots
Handful of these flax-corn mini chips
Cup of fake fruit punch

Afternoon snack:
More flax-corn mini chips
Cup of tea with soy milk and sugar

Supper:
Baked tortilla chips with salsa and guacamole
Another cup of fake fruit punch (it's so good :p)

Dessert:
A few dates

Evening snack:
Some rice crackers (Japanese-style) with Tartex

Before bed:
Cup of sleepytime tea

OMG, I'm soooo gassy right now. :(

breakfast: flaxseed bread with curried hokkaido spread + tomatoes
baguette with homemade banana-fig jam

lunch: veggie burgers with oriental patties (close to falafel, but then again different)

dinner: pointed cabbage and potatoe stew

snack: half a cantaloupe melon, green olives with almonds, cocoa halva

breakfast: vanilla almond shredded oats w/ soymilk

snack: two plums

lunch: sandwich (wheat toast, tofurkey, tofutti american, lettuce, tomato, nayonnaise, vidalia mustard relish), baby carrots w/ goddess dressing, silk nog

snack: three canned pear halves

dinner: way too many chips & salsa, burrito w/ grilled onions, peppers & mushrooms, refried beans & spanish rice

lunch: flaxseed bread with curry-hokkaido spread and tomatoes

snack: green olives with almonds, halva, two organic apples

dinner: will be baked pumpkin with caramel shallots and wholewheat penne

B- 2 organic weetabix with soy milk + yogurt, with raisins + chopped banana

S- 1 orange, 2 small satsumas

L- Hummus + roasted pepper sandwich on granary bread. Date and oat slice- biggg slice :p

S- Gala Apple

D- Vegetable Ratatouille with mushroom rice with extra mushrooms (button)

Drinks- black coffee x 3, water, peppermint tea later

-Plain soy yogurt with pumpkin flax seed granola
-Watermelon

Lunch:
-Whole wheat Pita and brocolli, sugar snap peas, and baby carrots dipped in roasted red pepper hummus

Dinner:
-Salad (Romaine lettuce, baby carrots, red peppers, and low fat raspberry vinaigrette dressing)
-Bulgar chicpea pilaf (bulgar, chicpeas, raisins, and chopped carrots with a soy sauce/lemon juice/ olive oil dressing)
-6 oz container of lemon soy yogurt

Later:
Popcorn with EB, most likely

Breakfast: cereal with walnuts and vanilla soy milk
strawberries

Mid-day: pecan pie Larabar
brown rice crackers with apple butter

Dinner: tons of marinated and cooked mushrooms with bulgar wheat salad, brocoli and balsamic roasted onions

My dinner tonight was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. I love love love mushrooms and onions, and the bulgur wheat was amazing.

I know for sure I'll be having an apple and coffee later on too.

lunch: sandwich (wheat toast, tofurkey, tofutti american, lettuce, tomato, avocado), baby carrots w/ goddess dressing, two kiwis, two newman's hint of mint cookies

snack: red grapes and peach silk yogurt

dinner: salad (romaine, cherry tomato, cucumber, "caesar" dressing), pilgrim pie (tofu, mixed veggies, gravy & mashed potatoes)

L: tofu (buffalo and asian) over broccoli, edamame, and celery
some french bread from a free sample and a couple chips from a free sample

D: took some freshmen out to dinner w. my big! it was lots of fun! :D (oh sorority life)
house salad w. ginger dressing
hibachi veggies w. steamed rice

breakfast - cup of soy yogurt. coffee w/soy creamer

snack - 4 triscuits and a slice of soycheeze

lunch - Amy's shepherd's pie

snack - banana and 1/4 cup Omega trail mix (almonds, walnuts, cranberries, other nuts). 1/4 cup grape tomatoes.

3 peices of candy...eek! I have been so hungry I can't control it!

dinner - leftover indian take-away - rice w/channa masala over aloo tikki, 5 bhajis w/chutney. 1 slice naan. 1/2 cup of Soynog. (yea! it's soynog season!)

dessert - homemade cupcake from Vegan Cupcakes takeover the World book - a Sexy LowFat Vanilla w/rasperry jam, confectioner's glaze and fresh raspberries.

mmm...that sounds good! so did the green olives you ate. I love olives, but sometimes i feel like the only one who does. :confused:

Wildflower, I'm impressed that you can eat 4 triscuits at a time. Crackers are my serious weakness. Get some triscuits, ritz, or wheat thins in front of me and I'll probably eat half the box!
