Umm...I used to hate olives until maybe a year ago, but now I think I'm in love with them... people around me all seem to hate dates! Well, that leaves more for me, but how can't you possibly like dates?

I'm not particularly keen on avocados but every now and then I like them in my sushi and as guacamole.

The penne were a recipe I tried for a birthday at the weekend- just diced the pumpkin and halved shallots, poured a mixture of white whine, olive oil, sugar, salt and pepper over it and baked for about an hour.
Serve with the pasta and a mixture of chopped parsley and lemon zest and mixed seeds (I took sunflower, pine and pumpkin).

I'm not a big fan of pumpkin but it turned out quite good and noble... I hope the guys will appreciate it.

The pasta sounds lovely, pavotrouge! I really need to get more creative... :o

I tried dates for the first time the other day! ...in a date & oat slice...and i can definitely say it was delicious!!

I can't stand olives! Blech. :)

Wildflower, I'm impressed that you can eat 4 triscuits at a time. Crackers are my serious weakness. Get some triscuits, ritz, or wheat thins in front of me and I'll probably eat half the box!

LOL - don't be too impressed - I count them out and bring them to work with me in a baggie! :p

Same with avocado and tomato haters.

I totally agree. I love all 3 of those - infact the are my top veggies that are really fruits. :p after that, spinach or peppers.

I am not a big asparagus fan, but i think it is because as a kid my parents served it to us out of a can even though the garden was overgrown with the stuff. i think i like it better fresh, because allthough i don't go out of my way to eat it, sometimes it is in stuff and I am not totally opposed to it that way. When i was a kid I used to say i wouldn't eat it because once I had it at the neighbors house and her dad used his dirty meat knife and fork to cut it up for us...ewww...I can't believe I remember that from when I was like 5 years old. turned me off the stuff forever.

today I tried to eat lightly and in small meals. I have been so hungry lately, but I feel like I am gaining weight.

Breakfast - 1/2 cup of cereal w/1/2 cup of light vanilla soymilk. 2 cups of coffee w/soycreamer.

Snack 1 - 1/4 cup of dried cranberries and omega nuts. cup of ginger tea.

snack 2 - 4 reduced fat triscuits w/1 slice of soycheese. small can of V8 essential antioxidents.

"lunch" - Fantastic Foods Vegan Chicken Noodle Soup cup - this was REALLY good and only 90 calories!

snack 3 - 4 reduced fat triscuits and a slice of soycheese

snack 4 - raw veggies - carrots, grape tomatoes, red peppers w/a few tbs black bean dip w/chuncky salsa.

dinner - leftover indian food - rice w/channa masala. bhajis w/chutney. naan. indian sugar sweet thing.

I was pretty full from my snacks all day, I didn't even eat my banana I brought. I figured without the banana, it was about 700 calories before dinner...not too bad. I have no idea how to begin estimating my dinner...i am more focused on what i eat for breakfast/throughout the work day.

I'm too lazy to write all I ate so here's what I had for dinner:

Butternut squash soup, mashed potatoes, peas and roasted squash

I really didn't like the butternut squash soup and it's weird...when I was an omni, if I didn't like something I ate I didn't really care but now I feel REALLY disappointed if I don't like a vegan food. =/

I guess b/c the "vegan food is nasty" stereotype bothers me so much.
