Alright, what is up w/ these chargrilled artichokes? How does one make them?

I just buy them already chargrilled from a supermarket.:o I think if you buy fresh artichokes you have to cut them in a certain way and steam them and they are supposed to be quite fiddly so I took the easy option. They are yummy though. I think I said before somewhere that they have a meaty texture (but not in a gross way obviously.)

I haven't eaten anything yet today. I think I am getting a cold. After I get off here I am going to make myself some toast and marmite and some proper tea and maybe have some lemon cookies as well. I need to rebuild my strength.:wink_ani:

Tons more:

2 toast with houmous
1/2 a toasted bagel with pure spread
Veggie sausage sandwich with ketchup
Stewed rhubarb and vanilla ice cream
Yogi tea and apple juice and water

I just love that vegans actually EAT! None of that dieting nonsense eg one lettuce leaf and 2 cherry tomatoes lol.

When anyone asks what vegans eat, we should print off this thread :D

Today I have had:

one glass of alpro soya chocolate 'milk'
2 cups of tea with soya milk
water

Breakfast - one slice wholegrain toast with Pure spread and scrambled tofu, red pepper and spring onions (with tumeric, soy sauce, and nutritional yeast, yum)

Lunch - wholegrain bread sandwich with Pure spread, chargrilled sliced courgette (zucchini to you guys over the pond) and Alpro soya cream cheese, which I excitedly found in Tesco the other day!

Dinner - will be a big veggie curry, as i've been a bit carb heavy, with a little rice.

Later on i'm sure a slice of beetroot chocolate cake will find it's way into my mouth!

Normally i'd have more variety but i'm busy today babysitting and taking mum's puppy to the vet for his jabs.

Me too! Sainsbury's :) I tried some from Tesco, but they were in a different dressing (lemon and something, I think?) and it just didn't work out for me. Garlic, chilli and thyme all the way!

They're a bit pricey so I bought a tin of artichokes to try chargrilling them myself, but don't have a clue how to go about it so the tin is still in the cupboard! I've found a nice artichoke pasta dish in La Dolce Vegan so I will probably use them up in that instead.

Today has been a Day Of Wheat unfortunately:

B: 2 toasted muffins w/ Pure spread and raspberry jam

L: Toasted petits pains w/ tomato and chilli chutney and hummous (had to use up the leftovers from yesterday!).

D: 2 tortilla wraps w/ Plamil mayo and a fried filling of potato cubes, mushrooms, leek and red onion. 1 Larabar (lemon).

S: Homemade milkshake (inspired by another thread) - 1/2 pint soya milk, dash of maple syrup, tablespoon cocoa powder, 2 frozen sliced bananas, 1/2 capful of vanilla essence. Extremely yummy!

(Chargrilled artichokes rock. I only tasted them for the first time recently.)

I absolutely love globe artichokes! (the root ones are okay roasted or mashed with potatoes but I'm not a massive fan)

My mum grows globe artichokes on her allotment. She drinks a lot of tea and discovered something funny about them - if you eat an artichoke, then have a sip of tea shortly afterwards (doesn't have to be immediate, but within a few minutes, I would think) it tastes like there's sugar in the tea.
