Your day sounded super-good, Goodbye Girl.

Can you share your felafel recipe? I've made some in the past but they always end up really dry and kind of unappetising.

Fiamma, did you fry or bake them?

fiamma
Sep 26th, 2006, 10:25 AM
I fried them. I basically leave the dried chickpeas to soak for 24 hours, then whizz them in a blender with parsley, garlic, onion, spices and salt. I wouldn't say they're unappetising, just very dry, and not much like the ones I get when I go to a felafel place. Any suggestions? I try to avoid switching on the oven unless I'm baking multiple items, as it uses so much power.

All I've had today is two pieces of toast with Earth Balance and jam and a small juice and soy smoothie. It seems like I eat less and less these days. I really need to start eating before I start withering away.

ETA: I'm eating a "cheese" sandwich with romaine hearts and a glass of cider (American) right now. And I'm making some barley soup with loads of veggies for later, so maybe I'll actually get over 1,000 calories today. Since becoming vegan my appetite has gone way down. Or maybe as an omni I was eating so much and now I'm eating when I'm hungry. Who knows??

I haven't had any appetite at all today? Which is VERY unlike me. ;)
I had an apple for breakfast and then it got to be about 5pm and I realized I hadn't eaten anything else!
Maybe it's because I've increased my water intake so much (from one large glass a day to about 5).
Anyway -

1 red delicious apple

2 bowls of whole-wheat macaroni with lentils and garlic-basil pasta sauce and soy sauce. (It was yummier than it sounds).

Maybe a Luna bar or a smoothie later.

That stir fry sounds really yummy Tigerlily!

Things sort of went downhill after breakfast today, because I don't have any food in the house to bring to school for lunch, and the vegan choices at my uni are pretty slim most days...

Today:

Breakfast: the juice of nine freshly squeezed organic Valencia oranges (it made SO much, but it was SO good!)

"Lunch": bag of corn chips and chocolate soymilk drink box :o

Snack (4 p.m.): bowl of mulligatawny soup and a dinner roll

Supper: not sure yet, but I probably won't be hungry for a while after my late lunch. I might end up having a bagel with tofutti cream cheese

It was yummy but yellow zucchini is sort of gross. :( It didn't cook properly and something about it makes me wanna gag. I picked the big pieces off. :o

They're a type of oaty cookie. They're from England I think and made by a company called McVities.
