I woke up really late, but I was in time for dinner:

bowl of kiwi-lime flavored soy yogurt (I blended and mixed the kiwi and lime with the vanilla yogurt myself; it changed the texture a bit but it tastes awesome so I don't really care)

garlic roasted potatoes with black beans and kidney beans
pumpkin rice dish with beans
Salad made of leaves, broccoli, garbanzo beans, tomato, onion, and some kind of vinegar.

It was neat because at the vegetarian line some guy asked me if the salad I was putting onto my plate had any dairy into it, and I said, "Well, it says it's vegan, which is why I'm eating it. " (the prepared salads almost always have dairy) :)

Then I had a small taste of an apple dessert bar and a 1/4 pint of peanut butter zigzag.

Brunch:

Hash browns with salad (spinach, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, snowpeas, carrots, onion, bell pepper).

mid-day snack: flax cereal with freeze dried strawberries and banana and rice milk

dinner:

corn chips and black beans with brown rice and salsa
yakisoba noodles with mushrooms and veg
steamed veggies (green beans and broccoli mostly)
chocolate almond cake (with a hint of cherry taste)

Unfortunately I rushed through dinner because one of the people working there was insulting the way I can't bend down and had to struggle to get to the beans, comparing me to another employee she was discussing at lunchtime right next to me, whom I saw in October. :( It feels so hostile when she is working there (same person who offered me "vegetarian lasagna" and who purposefully ignored me for over an hour when trying to figure out the dessert labelling - she rarely if ever puts out the slate that lists the desserts and which are vegan anyway, unlike the other person who works there regularly). Well, at least she mostly works there during the weekends; what with being on medical leave and all I really don't want to put up with this !#*&.

fondducoeur, that pot pie sounds like it was delicious. :amazed_ani:

Today:

B: Bowl of 19-"grain" oatmeal with 5 spices, 1 medium banana & some すりゴマ [surigoma, or crushed golden sesame seeds]..

L/D: Big salad of spinach, raw red pepper, roasted red pepper, roasted chickpeas, some lemon juice & a little salt..

S: homemade "sorbet" [frozen blueberries, lemon juice, lemon zest]

The chickpeas were amazing. First I boiled them, then toward the end I added some cayenne to the water and continued boiling. After they were pretty much done [I had soaked them overnight so it didn't take very long] I strained them and added them to a container with some black pepper, cumin and a little curry powder and gave them a nice shake until coated. I added a little lime juice and shook once more and put them on a baking tray. I shook some sliced red pepper in the remaining spice mixture and added that to the tray as well. I broiled them both for a few minutes until nice and crispy but not burnt. They were soo, so so so good. I'm in love. :D

QM, that's incredible what happened to you at the restaurant.. I can't believe it. The worker was just straight up making fun of you to other employees? How do they not get fired for that!!!??:(

They actually might have. When I went there today, the person at the register was somebody I didn't recognize at all (I tried to discern if it was somebody familiar who had changed their hair up, but no, highly unlikely, and her voice is different too). Later on when eating, I couldn't tell for definite because I only caught the end tail of the comment, but she said something like, "...they said, 'train her,' and I said she's fired." So I couldn't tell if they were talking about the same person, or maybe another person who's been not doing too well getting used to the job, but it's possible that it's already happened, even though that would be far from what I expected.
