Hi Emma ... everyone talks about medjool dates .. they sound like the fresh dates i buy from the greengrocer here in Sydney. They are sold loose by the kilo .. soft and sweet and yummy (not like those dried ones in the packet that you use for cooking) .. are these the same do you think? Banana would know as she's from Australia .. does she still post? Thanks

Did you get that at a vegan freindly restaurant or did you make it? I haven't missed eggs in months until you described that! If you made it, how did you do it?? Would it be good w/out the veg. cheese?

It's easy and good without fake cheese too! I take the tofu block, drain it and slice off 1/4 inch thick slices (so it's a big thin square) then I fry it in a frying pan with salt and pepper. I use earth balance margarine and butter 2 pieces of toast and slather on some veganaise too, gently place the square tofu egg on the toast, cover with other piece and eat my egg sandwich. It is also unbelievably yummy if you add smartbacon, lettuce and tomato to that!
I also make killer Angeled Eggs! (yeah emmm, you got it! Vegan Deviled Eggs!) :P

Do you use Japanese (silken) tofu for the egg sandwich painterlady?

well, when i'm at home all day i don't really eat "meals," i just pick at things all day...but today, so far, in chronological order:
organic bartlett pear
wheatines (wheat crackers)
pomegranate seeds
volcanic blood orange juice
banana
whole wheat macaroni with nutritional yeast sauce
and later i plan to make a salad with organic baby greens, red bell peppers, cucumber, balsamic/olive oil dressing, soaked sunflower seeds, and kalamata olives.
i love food...so much.

My younger brother drinks at least 2, 12 cup pots of coffee daily. He 'supplements' this with 3 or more large energy drinks. (I don't drink coffee or energy drinks at all...)

So far...
Soya cappuccino, cupcake and croissant
Lunch was pasta with homemade pesto, salad with cannellini beans, lettuce, tomato, grated carrot and ginger, an apple and a soya yogurt
Tonight we're going out to dinner at a friend's place; they called and asked if veggie couscous would be OK, their original plan had been veggie pizza without the cheese. It's so nice when someone goes that extra mile to make vegan food :)
