the rest of the evening I ate from the spread I put out for my Christmas party! raw veggies w/ ranch & hummus, crackers & tortilla chips w/ salsa & artichoke dip, sweet & smoky nuts, creole stuffed mushrooms, pretzel rods, and five kinds of cookies - snickerdoodles, sugar cookies, spiced ginger crackle cookies, spelt chocolate chip peanut butter cookies, and fudgy cocoa mint cookies. all my omni friends were very impressed :) and since it was a party I also imbibed - vegan eggnog w/ brandy, an alabama slammer, vodka cranberry, and rum & coke zero...and then lots of water before I went to bed...

Had a naughty day today:

Woke up to a breakfast of coffee and several pieces of dark-chocolate coated marzipan.

Then later the Leeds Vegan Society xmas meal at Dandelion & Burdocks (highly recommended!) starting with maple parsnip and walnut salad, followed by shitake mushroom and tofu firecracker (big springroll type thingie) with sweet potato mash, sweetcorn and cabbage, finished off with a rich xmas pudding with hot brandy sauce and a generous scoop of vanilla icecream, and finally a frothy, chocolate covered cappaccino and a champagne truffle.

That's me finished for the day. Yummy!

Last night I had reheated curry that I didn't reheat properly, it led to a surreal night of no sleep, stomach cramps and crazy thoughts.

Felt fine today though, I finally got to sleep at 9am this morning, slept through till 3PM. Roast dinner (potato, onion, squash, runner beans and a sausage) at 6:30ish. Been eating a few lemon drops this evening.

I'm sort of confused about your posts. Do you post what you are eating right now (or just finished) or what you have eaten all day?

Emma... yes that's them! Actually saw them in a packet in my supermarket - $A5.95 for pack of 13 (about 2 pounds 50p UK). I think they're like about $A20 per kilo. I must try them stuffed with nut butter .. I normally eat 2 with a nice sharp granny smith apple (offsets the sweetness a bit) Talking about Medjool dates in case anyone is wondering!

They are so good. :) There's this big holiday chocolate/candy display in my local Superstore. It's across from the hot dogs and other processed meats. I never go in that direction but I was with my mom. I happened to see them. :) So yummy!

Ew.......I hope they're not near the meat and crap in my Superstore, although they probably are, because that's where I remember they had a big Halloween Candy display. I wonder why they do that? I mean, meat and chocolate.....hmmmmm.......good combination! NOT!!! Why can't they put it near the coffee or something sensible like that!

Anyway, thanks for the tip :D

I've been attempting to bulk up recently, as I've got that always-skinny body type (ectomorph), so I've been eating a lot recently. And, of course, working out. I'm seeing results and I feel great!

Today:

- Protein Shake (Chocolate soy milk, rice protein powder, banana, blended)
- A pear.
- About a cup or so of Almond Tofu (a sweet, Asian dessert made with soy milk, Agar Agar, sugar, and almond extract)
- Pasta with tomato basil and artichoke sauce, with some tempeh in there, too.
- Coffee (black)
- 2 slices of toast
- A big salad with Tuscany Italian dressing.
- 1 Trader Joe's Strawberry Juice Bar
- A bunch of strawberries and grapes.
- Rice and a Gardenburger BBQ riblet
- a few natural potato chips (Sea Salt & Pepper)
- Chocolate Soy Ice Cream

And a multi-vitamin.

:) Yummm! What's in an "Alabama Slammer"?

I think it's supposed to be Southern Comfort, amaretto, pineapple juice & grenadine. We like to top ours off with Sprite...but we had no Sprite or pineapple juice or amaretto, so ours were SoCo, OJ, grenadine & gingerale and it tasted just fine :)

yesterday was a bad eating day...

lunch: tuno w/ vegannaise & relish on ritz, red grapes

snack: tortilla chips, regular chips, and beers

dinner: tomato wrap w/ lettuce, tomato, carrot & hummus, sweet potato fries w/ ketchup, more beers

after dinner: more chips

after that: a bad tummy ache

Jamboxrock, I love the combination of chocolate and mint. Would you please share the recipe for the cookies?

These cookies are awesome...they're really cakey and fluffy, and there's no margarine and only 2 tbs oil, zucchini lends the moisture. All my guests were asking "what this green stuff?" but didn't seem to mind :)

Fudgy Cocoa Mint Cookies

For variety, try vanilla, coffee, or coconut extract instead of peppermint.

Yield: 48 cookies

3 cups unbleached or whole wheat flour or 1 1/2 cups of each
1/4 cup cocoa
2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbs oil
1 1/2 cups granulated sweetener
2 1/2 cups finaly grated zucchini (3/8 lb)
1 tsp peppermint extract
1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Farenheit.
Mix the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl.
Beat the oil, sweetener, zucchini, and peppermint extract together with a mixer. Add the dry ingredients and beat until smooth. Fold in the walnuts.
Drop by tablespoonfuls onto cookie sheets, and bake for about 12 minutes.

Per cookie: 57 cal, 0g fat
