and rudeness, arrogance and offensiveness are still rudeness, arrogance and offensiveness...if you would like people to converse with you in a reasonable, more welcoming/friendly manner then lose the hostility towards everyone else whether they're disagreeing with you or offering advice:rolleyes:

Why should I be polite to people who talk down to me? Advice?

Your whole basis of this argument against me is that I think women who have abortions usually fail their contraception - which means they probably didn't know how to use it properly - which is ignoracne about contraception.

That's not rude. And it's not rude to think that women use abortion as contraception - you become scpetical when you know the stats and when you know a 16 year old who's had 4 abortions and genuinely doesn't even thin twice about it and shrugs when you ask her why she won't go on the pill. Don't believe it? It's so terrible it's hard to believe but all the oung girls I know who had abortions aren't traumatised in the least. And no, they aren't lying.

Cobweb - I don't need to try to think about it. STOP BEING SO FUCKING CONDESCENDING. I can empathize *FULLY* how bad that would be. Still no cause for murder.

Find the proof yourself, why should I have to drag it up just because it's convnient for you to not believe it, it's only offensive to anyone who had an abortion.

no, it's not offensice to have or to post opinions, but it is offensive to make sweeping statements and far reaching assumptions about every single case of abortion.

i'm beginning to think you're a troll.

I didn't say anything about every single case of abortion, you simpletn. I was clearly alking about messing up contraception or not using it at all, which is usually the case.

Its offensive to make sweeping statement because of my age and my beliefs.

i've already stated that i had a termination when i was a teenager thanks to that 1 in 100 case of failed contraception so you will have to excuse my ignorance. I expect that i therefore do not deserve to be a mother and it's also the reason that my son is Autistic.

If you make such bold statements as those you made then of course it's down to you to back them up with evidence!.

As it happens i dislike the idea of terminations and was very traumatised by my own - it still affects me actually but it also traumatises me to think of people having unwanted and/or unloved children that they cannot afford to look after and/or don't really give a damn about. To me it's sometimes a case of damage limitation.

yes, you did, for example you said that women that have abortions don't deserve to be mothers because they 'cherry picked' their children.

i guess i must be a simpleton to waste time arguing with you :umm_ani:.

Hi,

A little reminder:

When everyone registered here, you stated that you accept rules like this one:

Please treat each other (including members that in your opinion don't follow our guidelines) with respect, and if you disagree with someone, focus on viewpoints, not on persons. Even if you are verbally attacked by others, please offer others the same understanding and kindness you would like to receive instead of fighting back (by insulting others/accusing others for being rude, idiots, sick etc).

...and this:

5) The Vegan Forum is not a public discussion forum 'for everyone'. Consider this forum a friendly dinner party where peaceful and polite people who are into veganism are invited :-)

I'm closing this thread now, and this has nothing to do with anyone's age or opinions - but about how opinions sometimes are presented.
