Kettle Foods Ltd recalls a variety of its own brand Kettle Chips

Food Alert: for Information Ref: 21/2005

Kettle Foods Ltd. has recalled two batches of its own brand Sea Salt and Balsamic Vinegar KETTLEŽ chips 150g size due to possible contamination with a dairy seasoning.
The undeclared presence of the dairy seasoning makes this product unsafe for individuals who are allergic to or intolerant to milk.

Kettle Foods Ltd has undertaken a full product recall. Product recall notices are to be placed in the national press on 28 and 29 April 2005 and again on 1 May 2005. In addition, Kettle Foods Ltd has also been in contact with the Anaphylaxis Campaign, which will inform all its milk-allergic members directly via a mailshot of the recall.

The product recalled is:

Sea Salt and Balsamic Vinegar Hand Cooked Chips 150g Best Before End: 30 Jul 05 Codes: 5094 and 5095
No other Kettle Foods products or pack sizes are known to be affected.

I like kettle chips as they are one of the few firms to state VEGAN on the packaging

I also admire them for being big enough to admit there was a problem and want to fix it asap

most firms Im sure would just ignore the probleam and hop it wouldnt be noticed.
