There's a tradition in England, Australia, and the US, that when there is something the govt doesn't want their people to know about, they wait for a suitable moment to 'bury' the news.
On the afternoon that the Corby sentence was read in court, the Austr. govt passed itself a 4 percent salary increase, giving themselves thousands of dollars extra pa. So anyone on $100,000 would get $4000 increase, and there are some, such as Ministers and the PM, who get $200,000 pa salary, thus giving themselves an increase of $8000 pa. This news was buried while pages galore were covered in news and photos about Corby. Is that sneaky or is that sneaky?
