View Full Version : Being vegan = about more than food/health reasons

Dear new visitors,

as you may know, vegans are against using fur, wool, leather etc... in general vegans avoid using animal products whenever possible.

As you also know, the reasons for NOT wearing fur or wool or leather has nothing to do with your personal health. It's about the life/wellbeing of someone else: the animals.

It would be wrong to blame someone for not being well-informed about veganism; it's not their fault that parents, teachers and mass media are doing such a poor job informing about veganism.

Some people register and say that they are not vegans because of the animals, but 'for health reasons'. It's actually not possible to be a vegan only for health reasons, but it is possible to eat vegan food for health reasons.

You read this when you registered here, but maybe you didn't notice what you agreed in: this is a forum for vegans; for people who are against killing and harming animals.

It's brilliant that many people avoid animal products in their diet, but this site is 'reserved' for people who are against killing and hurting animals for other reasons as well. It's nice to have a place to communicate with likeminded people, without interruptions from people who have nothing against killing animals or keeping them in captivity.

I hope you understand and accept what kind of forum this is meant to be. Please read our board guidelines (http://www.veganforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4606). After having read them, maybe you realize that this is a not a site for you...? if so, good luck in finding a forum that suits your needs better! :)
