Does anyone have any experience with having these?

2 weeks ago I was hiking and my eyes started to bother me. I took my contacts out and they swelled shut. the next day I went to urgent care and they said i had an allergy, prescribed antibiotics and antihistamines. I followed up with a opthamologist (couldn't get in until this monday of course) He said I had a Corneal Ulcer (which is a bacterial infection) which looked 95% healed, but it was starting to scar and the scar may block my vision. he said there was nothing he could do for me, just not to wear my contacts or put any drops in.

I followed up today with a cornea specialist. He said it didn't look like I ever had an allergy, or an infection, or a corneal ulcer, but I do have a scar forming right in my line of sight. He said that it may or may not affect my vision. He also said i have a small scar in my other eye that I probably never noticed. He didn't know what would cause this, he thought it looked like an abraison.

I am staying home all week and resting. I had all this shit at work and i don't even care, i am so worried. I am just waiting to wake up and not be able to see out of part of one eye, which of course will affect my total vision. it is so scary. i loaded up on foods rich in A/C/E (a - carrots/butternut squash soup, C - orange juice E- almond milk) as they are supposed to help eye health and A and E generally reduce scarring although i am not sure if it applies to eyes. I am so fair skinned I scar so easily, I am not sure if that carries over to my eyes or not.

Any suggstions? I also got a vitamin my parent's Dr recomends called Occuvite. It is basically C/E/copper/zinc and Lutien.

I had an abrasion on my cornea a while ago, caused by impact. I took lots of vitamin C and silica. I have healed nicely, with no scar. I am sorry to hear of your problems, Wildflower. My eyes are my weak spot, and it is very frightening to have your vision threatened. I hope you heal well.

Thank you Seaside, i am sorry to hear you went though something simillar, but glad that you healed nicely. The Dr said that the scarring for what I have is inevitable, but it may or may not fade (he compared it to the kind of scar you get when you scrape you knee, more like part of the healing process and fades eventually)

What is silica in? I think silca I think sand!

Silica is a very overlooked nutrient. It is essential for bones and skin. Most of the bioavailable silica supplements come from horsetail extract, which is an aquatic plant.

ahhh...I have seen horsetail extract in my face exfoliater. I freaked at first, and them saw in parentheses (plant origin).

Thanks seaside!
