View Full Version : Soy yogurt = empty calories?

Does soy yogurt contain any nutrition (calcium, B12, etc) at all or is it just a novelty thing?

The only soy yogurt available here is the So Nice brand and they only have the nutritional facts of the calories, fat, and carbs.

Is there any nutritional benefits or is it just another dessert-y thing?

Well.... even if it isn't fortified, I would imagine it would be an easily digestible form of soy protein *shrugs* I honestly don't know, though.

But is the calcium from vegan sources, or from dairy?

Thanks but I can't get Alpro here and I'm not sure if the Alpro one is the same as my So Nice brand.

you could always email the company and ask them if it contains any kind of nutrition :)

I'd guess it's just as nutritious as soy milk, and I believe some kinds contain live bacteria which are meant to be good for your digestive system. You would probably have to buy (or make) the plain kind to get the live bacteria though; you can always add fruit before you eat it.
