The WLPA ‘s Cat Rescue service (Sydney) provides temporary care for abandoned and homeless animals and as you can imagine we are inundated over the XMAS period. All our carers are full and we are working hard to rehome in this heatwave. Post XMAS, we have well over 200 animals in care.

We urgently need volunteers to assist with hands on and administrative tasks in managing this workload. It may only be for an hour a week or a day a month. We are looking for people able to donate some time and willing to help animals directly and also for individuals with contacts or access to services that would help animal cause. This can be:

Volunteer at a carers house to help with cleaning, feeding, managing animals Become temporary carer yourself (provide temporary accommodation for an animal to give us time to find a new permanent home)
Assist with advertising and promotional work (eg, writing and placing advertisements)
Help answer phones and manage call referrals from carers, vets and potential rehoming opportunities
Transportation to and from vet clinics, rescue from pound/vet Media/Press releases and managing media contacts
Fundraising activities Design and print work
Placing CatRescue “Homes wanted” posters (our most successful rehoming tools)
General manual work (cleaning and rearranging our office to accomodate day time rehoming opportunities)It may only be for an hour a week or one day a month but we could really do with your help.
