Oh, and I usually get, "do you actually like that stuff?"

I tend to not mind even the stupid questions - It's when I get told stuff that I get annoyed. Like 'you need meat' 'you are not going to make any difference' etc etc

My life, my choice grrrrr

When I told my dear old mum that after being vegetarian 5 years, I was also giving up on eggs and dairy food etc, she asked me in all seriousness, "Are you now what they call a vagrant?"

Bless her!

The other day, someone at work asked me if I wanted a drink, and I said no (I don't like caffeine). Another colleague asked me - in all seriousness - "Can't vegans drink tea and coffee?"

Are you going to buy a Mcflurry?:D

Oh I just get the usual "But you're depriving yourself of so many things!"

(yawn)

Or the classic "So what do you eat?"

(double yawn)

It wasn't a question....it was a statement exclaimed by this girl I used to work with. When she saw me eating a sandwich she said in a loud voice "OMG What are you doing!? BREAD'S NOT VEGAN IT'S GOT EGGS IN IT!" Then a while later I heard she'd been saying to other workers "Roxy's not a real vegan. I saw her eating bread."

Ugh. Grow up you little twit.

Someone asked me "How do you make cakes with no fat in them, then?". Do I look - for one moment - as if I don't eat fats???

LOL that's a classic

I think being vegan has made me realise how ignorant a lot of the population are, and, more importantly, judgemental with their ignornance

"how much time you got?"

"all sorts of deliciousness"

"pretty much what you eat in a different way"

My husband and I were asked if vegans meant we were from Las Vegas.

The same person (once we had explained what it did mean) then said "oh, so I guess you can't eat peanut butter then".

Also got the comment from an ex-friend that she thought I would eat butter and eggs if it was baked into the food.
