My local co-op (Oakham, Rutland, UK) was burnt down in an arson attack in July - clearly not by vegans. It has finally been re-opened, and I am going to buy some sorely needed toiletries today!

Our local Co-op has been robbed at gunpoint about three times. The staff always look terrified. Also I needed some toothpaste the other day and when I enquired where the Co-op own brand was, the assistant whispered "we've taken it off the shelves. People round here steal it!!!!.....":confused: (Colgate etc. was on the shelves though).

Vegan thieves maybe?

i used to stay with 2 vegan 'anarchists' - whenever we went shopping you could guarantee they would steal most of their stuff whilst i paid for mine :rolleyes:
their reckoning was that supermarkets are the real thieves anyway (*hushed whisper, i mentioned the 's' word twice then! :amazed_ani:*)

- but the funny thing was they would take the animal free shopper guide with them so they knew what was 'ok' to steal :D

Co-op's Fairtrade mince pies are labelled vegan. Also the jam filled doughnuts, rhubarb pie and apple pies are suitable. (And recommended by me :) )

My ex-partner was one such 'anarchist'. She would go in with me to Tesco, pick up a snack and drink, and proceed to eat and drink them whilst shopping (and not paying at the end) :amazed_ani:. She had quite a nerve, I couldn't do that.
