Here's a place for the raw foodists and those who are interested in really raw recipes to post thier favorites and get inspiration!

Raw Banana Ice Cream

4-6 medium- bananas, sliced and frozen
4-6 dates, pitted and chopped or 2 T. raw agave
1/2 a vanilla bean, scraped

Combine the above in a food processor and puree. Add a bit of pure water or fresh juice as needed to desired consistency.

If a carob/chocolate treat is desired, add the following:

1/3 cup raw carob (or several ground raw cacao beans)
4-6 dates, pitted and chopped or 2 T. raw agave

and puree very well.

Optional: 1/4 cup flaxseed, ground to thicken and add protein, good fats and fiber.

Place this back in the freezer for 20-30 minutes, stir well and serve :) If you let if refreeze, simply puree again before serving.

That recipe really kicked my recipe's butt... Though mine is still nice if all you've got are bananas...

I made this before I saw yours, Sweetie ;)

Besides, for purists, using only plain bananas is the SUPERIOR way to make raw ice cream!!! :D

I have decided to do the 100% raw thing for January to see how I cope. I would love it if anyone has good sprout recipes, for oats and wheat and millet and buckwheat.

I make banana ice cream by freezing bananas, thawing them for about 3 min., and then processing. No other additives.
