Too bad we don't have that here in PEI. We have Atlantic Superstore, is that the same thing?

Wow they own a lot! Do you guys have Sobeys in Ontario? They are a large supermarket chain here as well.

Not as good as Superstore. :p Although lately I noticed their produce department is very pretty. Superstore is starting to get sloppy--just throwing the produce on the stands. While Sobeys takes the time to present it nicely.

How expensive is organic produce in Ontario? I don't buy it because it's expensive. I think it's more expensive here since everything has to be specially shipped here.

well... an example i can give you is broccoli... one bunch non-organic is between .99 cents and $1.29 ... as for organic, it's about $2.50-$3.00 ... which is a huge difference... BUT... i think when the weather warms up and the local organic farms are up and running it should be a bit cheaper... :)

Really? I thought I had read something about your province becoming a GM free zone. I thought most everything that grew there was already organic.

We have Real Canadian Superstore here, but I dislike it immensley.

Nope, there's a couple of local organic farms (just like anywhere else) but most are conventional. And the GM free zone was just talking, I don't think they would ever do it.

We don't seem to have a lot of produce that can be grown here. Although our soil is red and it seems "fertile", I found out that our soil is very unfertile and there's places in the desert pariries (sp?) that are more fertile! We have potaotes, carrots, and other root vegetables, and tomatoes and lettuce in the summer.
