I have made up a new oatmeal recipe this week, and thought I would share. :)

Feel free to post your favorite oatmeal recipes as well...

1/4 cup rolled oats
1/2 a banana - sliced
1/2 cup water
1 medjool date (pitted)
nutmeg
soymilk

Mix together oats, sliced banana, medjool date and water, then microwave for 2 minutes on medium power. Stir until date and banana are blended in, then stir in soymilk and a pinch of nutmeg. Enjoy! The nutmeg and date go very well together...

Usually I make this -

1/2 cup rolled oats
1 banana, sliced
3/4 cup water
cinnamon
vanilla soymilk

Mix together oats, sliced banana and water, then microwave for 4 minutes on medium power. Stir until bananas are blended in, then stir in vanilla soymilk and a good amount of cinnamon. Enjoy!

1/3 heaping cup of oatmeal (I think I use the quick oats)
3/4 cup of soy milk or water
1/2 cup of fresh or frozen strawberries
And microwave on high for 2 minutes or longer. If you use sweetened soy milk, you probably won't need any extra sweetner for this.

I always add some wheatgerm and flax seed powder to my oatmeal after reading how good they are for you. They both have alot of Omega oils in them as well as lots of protein.

Hmm, I need to find some flax seed powder. I have the oil and am not a fan of it so much.

You can grind your own flax seeds in a coffee grinder if it is hard to find the flax seed powder over there. I think they are called linseeds in some places too.

I buy the flax seed powder here - it is called milled flax or ground flax and Bob's Redmill is the brand I buy.

Ohh, yes, Bob's Redmill. I have lots of his stuff in my cupboards. So surely I've seen the flax powder before. :) Thanks!

mmmm, i never thought of that!

I just bought some mexican chocolate yesterday. I made a lush quinoa pilaf with it a few months back. i am sure it would be great with oats too!

last week i added a bit of cooked oats on top of a big bowl of berries - cherries, strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. then i added some ground flax and soymilk. yummy!
