Hi all, Here's a little note to announce a change in how questions from non-vegans/new vegans area dealt with in this section. All forums have 'trolls'. Some threads in this area are not started by trolls, but still could be perceived as coming from trolls, eg. because they contain a lot of ...
Hi all, Harry here. I live in Australia and ride mountain bikes and my real name is Mick but that handle was taken. I was vegetarian for years but became vegan about 6 months ago after a mate sent me a copy of The Rave Diet to read, which simply put is a vegan diet and no processed foods. I thought...
At the moment I live in a hole in the map and so the only time my mum can shop is when I can't go with her so I can't search the shelves for the vegan products. So I'm wondering, in the UK, which is the most popular vegan cheese and butter so I can tell her what to look for? Perhaps this is me...
Hello all, I'm not quite there yet, but I'm pretty much vergitarian/almost vegan. It started because of diet (I can't eat red meat or most dairy products) and kept going from there. I still have eggs, and some animal products but I stear clear if/when I can. I'll get there one day :) My main...
Hi all, I'm a new vegan and new to the forums. I'm eating totally vegan and not buying anything non-vegan inasmuch as I can prevent it by figuring out labels and doing research, but I haven't quite given up all my clothing and wool yarn as I can't afford to just toss the few pairs of shoes that...
Hello! :) I turned vegan 2 months ago, and am fairly new to the whole thing. I check all the labels in my food to make sure they contain no animal products, but there is one thing that concerns me that makes me fear that I am not a vegan at all...and that's the sugar. If on the label it says...
Hi, I am new vegan (been going strong for about a month) and new to this forum and i first just wanted to say hi but i also have a few questions. My first question is: Is Miralax vegan? I have been searching the internet and i cant find a clear answer. And if it isnt vegan i was wondering if anyone...
If everybody were to go vegan, what would happen to all the animals? We might lose many species'? There would be no more cows, or sheep, or piggies.... I would miss them. That's not to say I disagree with veganism, I'm all for it, but I'm interested in the long-term consequences of promoting such...
Hey all, After a lifetime of eating great amounts of meat, dairy, eggs and other sources of protein because of the above mentioned sports, I finally decided that enough was enough (for health, ecological and ethical reasons) and became ...almost... a vegan. I say 'almost' because although...
Hi ! :) I'm vegan since 28/10/09, but vegetarian since I was born. Hi and sorry, then. Hi, because I'm new. Sorry because I'm french and I don't write really good english, so when I make an error, please say me where and why, thanks. So, first question : I think that "vegan" means :
Hello, I just wondered if there are any cruelty-free companies doing hair dye, in blonde? Lush do those bars but seem to be for reds or brunettes not blondes. Helen
I really really want to become a vegan, but I'm not sure where to begin.. Can anyone explain to me how to get started please? :) I would really appreciate any advice! Also, what are the easiest ways to eat vegan under a budget? Thank you very much!

Hi to everyone. I have had an interest in either becoming Vegan or Vegetarian for some time now, and have never acted on it. A recent discovery had finally made that push for me. I am 98% sure that I have developed an allergy to dairy products; something I thought that I could NEVER give up....
Hi Everyone. I would love to be a vegan. So, here is my question, can any of you please give me tips and tricks that help you/helped you? I would really appreciate it. Thank you. ~Mason *edit*
How do I make the shift from non-vegan to vegan, if I so choose? I shouldn't just DROP all the animal foods--maybe stop eating meat, then stop eating chiken, then fish, then dairy. I think a gradual shift is healthier, because a sudden shift like that isn't healthy.
I don't think I can call myself a vegan yet; for a start there are still animal derivatives working their way through my digestive system and secondly, my favourite handbags and shoes are made of leather - but it's day one of my journey. My question is this: am I likely to go through a sort of...
I've been vegan for about a year and a half now and everything has gone pretty well but all of a sudden lately I've really been craving meat and it's so frustrating. Does anyone struggle or has done so in the past? I can't go back to being an omni but a lifetime without steak is seeming really...
Hi All, I suffer with hand eczema, and there is a small amount of research that suggests that following a low nickel diet may help for those with nickel allergy (which I have). Problem is it means I have to exclude the following: all beans and pulses, soya, chocolate, whole wheat products...
I put myself down as not a vegan, as I have only just become a vegan today, and I think its a bit disrespectful to people who have done it for a long time to say I am a vegan basically after just deciding. Anyway the question I have is, How important is a variety of different vegetables in a...
I'm 33 years old, half life vegetarian, about 3 years vegan and last year vegetarian again ( but always vegan in my soul ) I had B12 deficiency and a lot of health problems connected with that Dizziness, tired all the time, strong heart problems, sleeping problems, weak memory and...
all sorted thanks
I have been doing research on Vegans for my English class. For this particular paper I am writing about how the economy has an effect on the price on food. I know that the price for organic foods is already high and I want to get a more in depth look as to how the recent economy has added to this....
I am curious, are there any issues with eating dairy or eggs (NO MEAT) if you yourself humanely raise the animals? I feel like there aren't, but I am a fairly new vegan, so i don't know if i am just being naive about this? Thanks for your help!
I'm attempting to try a different diet and here are some details: 1) I don't know what I need from a diet and want the healthiest diet I can get with my limitations. 2) I don't have a kitchen. Only a hotplate and slow cooker. 3) I would prefer something easy to prepare. 4) Allergic to most...
I am allergic to three things that it seems vegans eat a lot of: legumes, tree nuts, and wheat. I am also allergic to strawberries. My doctor told me I could not go vegan because I am limited to the kinds of protein I can consume and we do nto have a wide variety of products in alaska. Does...
My sister has been a vegetarian since she was about 13, so over a decade now. Early in 2009, she became a vegan. My concern isn't the weight she's lost (as she was overweight to start with and is now at a reasonable weight for her height) but how fast she's lost it and how difficult it's been...
