Hmm, not sure I should ask this really, but where do you get those, mchelle?
Yup, they are vegan and available in most supermarkets.
Thanks, will have a look next time I have a moment of weakness - shouldn't be long!
I got some lemon ones too along with the original jammy ones. :)
Just make sure they say 'now more fruity' on the front as there are still a few old packets floating around.
This has made my day, thank you :D
I wish I'd found this out a week sooner as I've just had a brace fitted and I doubt I'll be able to eat any for the next two years (by which time they may have chanced the recipe back!) My other half is very grateful for the tip though and has already eaten half a pack!
Ohhhh my gosh yes!!!! Can't wait to go buy some now, I've missed them so much I may actually write to them and say thanks for ditching the milk, you've greatly widened your potential customers!
Wooohooo! Something to take into work before my birthday if I can't be arsed to bake a cake! :D
found some new ones lemon with custard but unfortunatly they wasnt vegan and neither was the mini ones but hey cant complain and they are cheap aswell sainsburys have them bogof at mo :)
Yay! really? off to the supermarket tomorrow yum. This ain't going to be good for one's hips.
They're 2 for 1 in the Co-op at the moment. And the jam doughnuts are buy one get one half price. My colleagues were delighted at my generosity - I didn't tell them that I'd just thought better of eating two packets of biscuits and two bags of doughnuts single handedly.
oh no!!! I sooo didn't need to know that lol. *must resist!*
the lemon ones are the best but now i cant stop eating them
[QUOTE=VeganMonkey;655000]I wish I'd found this out a week sooner as I've just had a brace fitted and I doubt I'll be able to eat any for the next two years
After a couple of months you'll be surprised what you can eat with a brace on....
can't quite get my head round the concept of a lemon Jammie Dodger, but me thinks I will be asking Hubby to pop into the Co-op on the way home.
(I know, did the quote bit wrong!)
Thanks HotSquirrel - I think you could be right, it's already getting a little easier!
Half price in Tesco Express tonight - 42p a pack!!
Not found Lemon ones anywhere?
There are lemon ones???
ooohhhh yeah there are lemon ones and they are better than the original ones :)
We just got some Jack And Molly Jammy Rings from Tesco. Taste just as good as Jammie Dodgers but only 32p a pack.
We got a 3 pack of Jammie Doggers for 99p in the 99p shop. The outer wrapper had the old ingredients listed, but the packs inside are the new vegan recipe.
I tried the yellow ones! Me and my friend finished a big pack in one sitting along side watching Takeshi's castle pahah
I bought a packet of both the lemon and the original ones. I couldn't remember if I liked them or not so I thought I'd give them a try.
Lets just say that I managed to polish off both packets in a single sitting :o
^^ that's impressive! :D
eating jammie dodgers while watching takeshis castles sonuds good to me :)
:D
Oh I've just been to Tesco and there are 2 new flavours of Jammie Dodgers - Toffee and chocolate, the toffee ones contain milk but the chocolate ones dont.
I think I will be putting on a lot of weight quite soon....
:D
They still haven't updated their website with the new ingredients and new varieties :( However, I am off to Sainsbobs in a mo, so will have a see if I can afford a packet or 10 of the chocolate dodgers!
My Saino's doesn't stock the choco dodgo's
Neither does mine :( Nor Morrisons. I won't give up, though! I'm hoping they will be like those face biscuits - I think they were called BN? I used to love those.
I didn't even realise that the original ones weren't Vegan in the first place, but now I know the chocolate ones are vegan I will have to give the a try.
As after all they are on offer at Tescos.
WHAT an exciting wee shopping trip I just had!
So, I had to go to the local Co-op to pick up some bits and bobs. Saw they had Original JDs on BOGOF. Think they were 99p a pack. I'll take that! I thought to myself. Need some consolation for being unable to pick up the new Choc ones!
I then had to pop in to the Tesco Express a few doors down to pick up some caffeine free cola, as the Co-op had none and that's our Friday night treat. I thought I'd chance it and went straight to the biscuit aisle. They had JDs. The label said BOGOF Original, Toffee and Choc. But NO Choc on the shelf!!! Boo! I thought, though, that maybe they were on the end of an aisle or something. SO! I traipse all the way around the Express - nothing. Head to the self-checkout. Pay for the cola. Heave my heavy bags over my shoulders, head to the exit...
AND NEXT TO THE EXIT was a massive display of these new JDs! £1.20 a pack, mind. But on BOGOF. So I grab 4 of the Choc version and head back round to the self-checkout, huffing and puffing with my bags. I must have looked mad.
But now I have a stocked larder! Taste test will commence later this evening :D
Here endeth the saga.
I reckon you could make better ones Pusskins! lol! I hear my friend David has got a regular cake order going with you, well done.
