I’m going to print the info into a mini booklet so that the next time I get into an argument with a meat eater (which could happen as soon as I step out the front door) I’ll hand it to them for their contemplation.

Could anyone answer me this question. It's been bugging me for some time, but i don't really like to think about it because it makes me feel un-vegan;
How can vegetables be truly vegan if they are grown in soil which contains animal/farm by-products (i.e. manure)? Aren't we contributing to the the farming industry by eating vegetables? And if they weren't grown in that way, is there an alternative?
