Maybe dinner somewhere at around 5:30pm?
This is going to be the loneliest meet-up in the history of meet-ups. he he :D
aww poor frank! Sorry frank, but we're in Manchester this weekend. Would have been nice, though - I've never been to Ireland!
Maybe I should have gone to Manchester then?? :D
I'll take my camera so everyone can see just what a great time one person on their own all night, probably cold, hungry, no one to talk to, etc etc, looks like!! :o
Hope it goes ok Frank?
Im in London this weekend, have been to Dublin once in my pre vegan days found a nice veggie and vegan eating place somewhere in a shopping area a small shopping mall place?
My non vege friends have said they are going to one of those burger places i would not be seen near for a snack before the concert so I have said i shall go to redvege for my food and meet them later!
Have a good weekend
You too :)
Frank you can't just decide to go somewhere for your own reasons then make it sound like a meet up and guilt us into feeling bad for not going with only 12 days notice!
I hope you have a nice weekend but "Is anyone free to meet me while I'm in Dublin" would have been a more appropriate title!
When I was there (on my own) I ate at Juice mostly, it is very nice.
Yes I will be going to Juice and one other place whose name eludes me at the moment.
Don't feel guilty...................get a flight - now!!! :D
You - "Hi is that ryanair? Yeah I'd like to abandon all my plans to go and get drunk with someone in Dublin"
Them - "Everyone who flys with us says that."
damn, i was in dublin LAST weekend! i too ate at juice, highly recommend it. i had brunch there on saturday.
also, there is a place in the tower clockhouse shopping place thingummy, which is good too. THE biggest slice of chocolate cake i've ever had.
amanda
Funny how none of us can recall the name of the place in the shopping centre!
No but i do remember that was the first slice of vegan choc cake i think i had there and there was a nice juice bar in that complex too i think!:)
There's another veggie place in Dublin called Cornucopia in Wicklow street...........it's very popular but a bit crowded. I think they are in the process of renovations at the moment though.
I've already had 2 weekends away in Dublin in the past few months Frank, otherwise I'd have come down to meet you! :)
I think I had a few nice breakfasts and lunches in Cornucopia. I have a feeling it is not open in the evenings - am I right?
ETA Looks like it is open til 8pm Mon-Sat, 9pm Thursdays and 7pm Sundays. I think that is why I have never eaten there in the evenings.
Also looks like the one in Powercourt Centre is called Cafe Fresh.

I wonder if it's as crowded later on in the day as it is at lunchtime? When we were there around 1 pm there was hardly room to move!
I hope these renovations are going ahead as it would be great to have more of a relaxed, restaurant feel about it.
that's the one! awesome cake; good soup too. it's so funny when you put me in a veggie restaurant - so used am i to only having one or two choices, given a whole menu, it takes me AGES. this place too, it was almost all vegan that day, and i stood at the counter forever trying to decide...lovely guy behind teh counter thought i was a bit barmy i think.
amanda
I know - tragic!!
I did have plenty though at Friday's sitting :o
I had a great long weekend there and met some really nice people.
I'm sure I can rustle up some pictures this week :)
Come on then, I always enjoy your pictures Frank :)
:D Maybe it's just aswell you didn't get up to the North.............I think us Irish are even madder up here! :D:)
(*Goes and books Belfast flight......................*)
let me know when you're having the next Dublin meetup :) My best friend's fella is from there, so I should be able to find someone to couchsurf.

Later that day my cousin came to see me at the hotel for a cup of tea and a chat. (Probably keeping an eye on me)

Dublin is a real loving city…

See you all there next time…. :satisfied:
you seem to have captured the spirit of the place there Frank!
it's ages since i was last there but i recall my son buying himself one of those huge shamrock hats and wearing it round the city all day!.
Well i shall be getting to visit some of the vegan places to eat in Dublin as going in August:)
Frank did you stay in a central hotel i cant decide where to book!
The place I stayed in (Quality Hotel) was a bit of a walk to town.
There are better places nearer I guess - so it would be worth a look around at what's available.
The Travelodge is just too far from town (and too expensive).
Thanks I like the look of the Harding hotel, £106 for 2 nights, but then the uni rooms are £48 for 2 nights but miles out of town:rolleyes:
i stayed in a hostel, so can't help you there! it was an ok hostel though....
