Incredible artwork by Chris Jordan
I just came across this website: http://www.chrisjordan.com/gallery/rtn
It has amazing digital artwork where each piece is made up of thousands of objects such as bottles, lightbulbs, etc. to give a visual representation of how much people consume. For example, there is a piece made up of 400,000 plastic bottle caps which is equal to the number of plastic bottles consumed every minute in the U.S.
Just click on each image and it will zoom in to show the objects.
Really fascinating stuff! Also, check out the Midway series under the Artworks tab at the top of the page for a look at what happens to some of the plastic that ends up in the ocean... :(

Thanks Bunky - very clever and thought-provoking, isn't it?
Re: Incredible artwork by Chris Jordan
Yes, I thought so too
The midway series shocked me as well. I had no idea that was going on.

Thanks for this Bunky - it brings into focus how much we abuse this planet every day, hour and second.
I started this year with a New Years resolution not to use another plastic shopping bag. It worked for about a month. I have no excuses, just got lazy. I think I will restart it from today.

I've had the reusable bags for years but it took me a long time to remember to actually bring them when I go to the store, and I still forget sometimes. I still use about a dozen of the small plastice bags for my fruits and vegetables every time I go. I think they sell reusable bags for that purpose as well but I've never seen them for sale here.
I just found a Running the Numbers part II as well: http://www.chrisjordan.com/gallery/r...r-of-the-tiger
I started with what I thought was one of the most effective pieces.
