Looking for a good vegan restaurant in Paris
Hi all,
I'm going to Paris soon and am looking for a good vegan restaurant near the city centre.
Also, I'm looking for a place that makes vegan sandwiches/take-aways...
Any tips?
Thanks, :o

Thanks,
But does anyone have any recommendations as to where to go?
I've read all the reviews, but like with everything, there are some good, and some bad...
Some of those posts are a few years old as well, so I'm looking for more updated info.

Re: Looking for a good vegan restaurant in Paris
Le Potager du Marais is still my favourite of the ones I've been to. I haven't had a chance to go there recently but I've been to Le Grenier de Notre-Dame a couple more times, and it's still kind of boring, but reliable (only make sure you tell them you're vegan otherwise they may dump non-vegan salad dressing even on a dish advertised as vegan). Guen Mai near the Bvd St Germain is nice for lunchtimes and does takeaways I think. (N.b. none of these is exclusively vegan and Guen Mai may serve fish.)
I don't know any places for vegan sandwiches but there are a few falafel bars and Lebanese takeways, especially in the Latin Quarter (more falafel bars in the Marais).
health stores and soy milk in paris - question
Hi there
I'm flying to Paris in a couple of days, I'll be staying at the latin arrondissement and I was wondering which if the nearest health store or any place that sells vegan products around. and also, which soy milk companies are available in Paris? are there any Alpros?
thanks and any other tip would be most welcomed :wink_ani:
Re: health stores and soy milk in paris - question
With Alpro being a Belgian company i'm sure it'll be easy to get in Paris, it certainly is in Holland and Germany.

Hi Kalia,
this link gives a list of natural food stores in Paris. Here in Italy at least, most supermarkets - even the smaller ones - stock soya milk, although it's generally the bigger places that sell Alpro. It's widely available here, don't know about France though.
Have fun in Paris!
Re: health stores and soy milk in paris - question
Hello. I don't normally bother with soya milk much when I'm there but there is a health food shop called Guen Mai round the back of St Germain that I imagine would have it. This place is a macrobiotic (and vegan-friendly) cafe as well.

The Monoprix in the Rue de Rennes (near the Bvd St Germain end) has a large food section, but again I haven't actually looked for soy milk in there. I think French supermarkets generally often have soy products though as quite a lot of French people are lactose-intolerant.
ETA there is a Maoz falafel place in the Rue de la Harpe (I think) but perhaps you get enough falafels if you live in Israel! Also a veggie restaurant, le Grenier de Notre Dame, not far away - to me the food there is slightly boring but it's quite a nice place (make sure they know you're vegan when you order as they are slighly inclined to squirt mayonnaise etc over everything, including the dishes marked vegan, if you don't).
There are other threads about Paris here if you search.
Re: health stores and soy milk in paris - question
go to Maubert Mutualité metro (line 10), exit place Maubert. on certain days there is a market.
near the market there is health food store with everything you would be looking for. The street is Saint Germain, I believe.
this health food store is located in the 5th arrondissement, it`s very close to Notre Dame cathedral, so you could take a peak at the great Gothic Mama, and ask for place maubert and get directions
hope this helps.
It`s a lovely neighborhood in Paris in anycase
this may be the link, or another one

there is a map on the site
also note that the market at place maubert has a vendor that sells organic vegetables, 'Agriculture Biologique'
search also on google "Magasin d'Aliments Naturels"
hope this helps
