I like what she said toward the beginning about "bridging the gap" between the animals children grow up with and the ones on their plate. Even as a kid it always seemed wrong that certain animals are deemed companions and others are deemed food.

It's kind of funny, this kind of book would never have been allowed in my house when I was younger. I personally was an animal lover as a kid, but I was taught to grow out of it :rolleyes:
