Re: Amazing Animal Rights Docu "Earthlings"
I've just watched 45 minutes.
I am in total shock. I feel such anger and such a sense of powerlessness. Like you Cherry, I will watch it all and I will speak up more.
We get complacent, being vegan, thinking that's enough, signing a few petitions, attending a few events - this shakes you out of your comfort zone. Maybe part of the anger I feel is at my own self-deception, that I'm doing enough when after watching this I can say that I blatantly am not.
Dear God, to think this is happening now, as I type, on and on and on. I can switch off after 45 minutes. They can't. For them - it's forever until their gruesome death. Multiple gruesome deaths year in year out
:(:(:(
How anyone can just ignore its intended impact and calmly disect the film in order to weigh dispassionately it's relative merits and failings - I don't know if that shows a startling maturity or callous moral superiority.
Maybe after I'll be better placed to answer that when I've watched the second half.
