Response from Nature's Path re: Honey
A while back I sent them an e-mail about honey. I received this back, glad to know the owners are vegan. I will support their products even more, as I hope you all do to. Their cereals are the best.
Hello Brian
Thank you for your email. We are reviewing the recipe for changes in the
new year.
Unfortunately due to a shortage of organic ingredients in North America
(less then 5% of North American agriculture is organic), we just cannot
always get the ingredients in the quantities we need. Also there are
important recipe variations such as texture, etc. that would all be
affected by changing even one ingredient.
Your point is noted. Our owners are vegan & they do try desperately to
go first with all vegan.
We do offer many other vegan products such as frozen waffles, cookies &
baking mixes such as brownies.
Re: Response from Nature's Path re: Honey
Thanks for that FR! Great to know the owners are vegan. I use quite a few Nature's Path products.
Re: Response from Nature's Path re: Honey
I didn't know they made other things. In Australia, we only have the cereal. It's imported from the USA and is pretty pricey. It's a bummer that I can't eat most of the cereals as they look awesome and I like the blend of grains.
The Ginger Zing one is pretty amazing but very sweet.
Honey is very expensive. You'd think it would be easier to cut it out.
Re: Response from Nature's Path re: Honey
what other kind of stuff does that brand make??
Honey sucks!
Re: Response from Nature's Path re: Honey
As far as I know, they make:
Cereal
Baking Mixes (cakes, brownies, cookies)
Energy Bars
Cereal Bars
Frozen Waffles
Hot Cereal
I’ve pretty much tried all their vegan products. They are all fabulous. I haven’t tried any of their baking mixes.
Re: Response from Nature's Path re: Honey
Haven't they heard of organic agave nectar or brown rice syrup?

Thats strange. Since they are vegan you would have thought they would have made more of an effort to find an alternative. And why use it in the first place
Re: Response from Nature's Path re: Honey
Mm.. i think i've tried a brand of waffle they make. YUM. i could eat like nine thousand waffles right now. lol :D

That is strange...why would they make and distribute something that they themselves are against and won't eat?
I do love their cereals, their brownies are OK but not my favorite, and I will be trying the waffles sometime soon 'cause I've been craving some:)
Re: Response from Nature's Path re: Honey
Can you all send an e-mail expressing your displeasure with them using honey? I realize they are changing some of their formulas, but our opinions do matter and the more they hear from us, the quicker they may act.
I don’t believe their is a shortage of organic agave nectar, or maple syrup. These ingredients will not alter the texture of the toaster pastries or any of the other products they may be using honey in. I guess we will have to wait and see what they are going to do.
Re: Response from Nature's Path re: Honey
I love the buckwheat waffles. And most of the cereals I buy (ofcourse) are vegan. Many of the optimum ones are.
