Proverbs - Re-worded, vegan-friendly
Certain proverbs, or everyday sayings, can be annoyingly inconsistent with vegan values. For example, "Killing two birds with one stone", "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush", or "Don't count your chickens before they're hatched". Yet there's wisdom there, or they're a handy, concise way to make a point - so I'd prefer not to throw out the baby with the bathwater.
Would anyone care to write any such sayings to make them vegan-friendly?

Un-caging two birds with one key...
A bird free to fly is worth two kept enclosed...
Don't count your Roses before they have bloomed...
Don't throw the spoon away with the leftovers...

Yay, a response! Thanks PB! The 1st & 3rd are my favourites - the 3rd is the most catchy, and the 1st because it's not just acceptable but pro-AR.

Thought of some more..............................................
Quote:
Don't put all your [eggs in one basket] money under one mattress...
Quote:
Give a man a [fish] loaf and you will feed him for a day, teach him [to fish] to sow his own grain and you will feed him for a lifetime...
Quote:
There's plenty more [fish in the sea] leaves on the trees...
Quote:
You can't make a [silk purse] crystal glass from a [sow's ear] cracked pot...
Quote:
Softly, softly, [catchee monkey] endear the enemy...
And the one I hate the most:
Quote:
There's more than one way to [skin a cat] just about anything else would do here, such as "climb a tree" / "fill a pond" / "win a million" / "eat an apple pie" lol.... My favourite alternative would be "wear a hat" cos it rhymes and it's about fashion too! :P
Then lastly...
Quote:
One man's meat is another man's poison...
^This right here is in no need of change! LOL...
