Frozen chicken chunks (similar bag to their soya mince) are vegan. I'm pretty sure it's rebagged Realeat Chicken Chunks. £2 a bag.

Oooh, must check them out!
Love the Realeat chunks, but have to go miles to get them.
I'll be on the lookout for those too!
At £2 they are cheaper than RealEat! :)
The only Asda brand chicken style chunks in our asda have egg white in them.
This was in a similar bag to the Asda brand mince.
It must be a new recipe, I remember when they first came out & they did indeed have egg White in them. Ingredients on back of bag now read; rehydrated (soya 81%), wheat gluten, natural flavouring, water & rapeseed oil. Coventry big Asda is usually pretty good when it comes to new stuff.
It was in that asda that I found Cock Flavour Soup Mix a week or so ago. Didn't check to see if it was vegan, was a bit scared.
Found own brand soya yoghurts. Pack of 4 strawberry flavour for 1.19.
Not eaten one yet.
Those chunks sound like a different recipe to the Realeat ones. I think the Realeat ones are more wheat than soya.
I think the "chicken" style chunks are a new recipe but they still have old stock. In my local Asda there are 2 different but very similar style bags.
Yoghurt is not as nice as the Alpro ones, in my opinion. Not horrid, so worth a try for a change at least.
I do think the asda frozen mince is better than many on the market. Shame the meatballs are not vegan.
Yes Veganlad, I really like the Asda mince too. :)
I like their 'chicken' pieces aswell but you have to be careful as some of the bags have egg in them for some reason. I don't know whether they are changing them and making them all with egg..........I hope not.
New stuff is the egg free stuff.
Oh no Pob, that's really disappointing to hear. I wondered why I was finding it harder and harder to get the egg free one. My husband uses the stuff with eggs in it and even he says he prefers the vegan variety better!
Erm...
New stuff is the one without egg in....
Sorry Pob...........I've had a few G&T's tonight so I'm not thinking straight! :o ;)
You've made me really happy now as I was quite depressed that they thought adding egg improved them. I'm off to Ballyclare (my nearest Asda) tomorrow to buy about 15 bags of the stuff! :) xx
Asda have recently started doing own brand Soya Yoghurts - 4 for a pound.
Strawberry are OK but not a patch on Alpro Strawberry - didn't seem very creamy.
Peach are really good - very creamy and twangy with loads of bits of peach in.
Not tasted the raspberry yet.
Ingredients/nutrition very similar to the Alpro yoghurts except no added B vitamins.
The Asda meatballs are also not vegan and that is a great shame as i use to eat them a fair bit. I do see much of their own branded vegetarian products in the frozen section with EGG. I was wondering if i am wrong???
Nope. Most supermarket frozen veggie stuff has egg in, unfortunately.
Grassingtons do a gardein meatball if you can find anywhere stocking it.
Morrisons
The Tesco mince is vegan but i am not a big fan of it to be honest. I dont want to shop at Tesco either.
Well, I went to Ballyclare (long drive) to get 15 bags of the stuff but they only had 4 left! :(
I have to shop at Tesco as it's very near to me, any other large supermarket is miles away and takes hours getting there and back! :(
I tried Asda for pretty much for the first time last week; and I was actually really impressed. A huge butternut squash for 1 pound, and their houmous is the best I've ever tasted (from a supermarket). I love the iced ring that the bakery makes, and occasionally they have jam filled iced buns. I don't entirely like the company, but the quality of their food is good, and organic fruit and veg is reasonable.
Boo to Asda. They've stopped selling the Organica vegan chocolate as well now near me. Don't know about other Asdas around the country, but my nearest is utter sh1te. Awful selection of sterile fruit & veg, the shop seems to exist mostly to sell alcohol, fizzy drinks, crisps, pizzas & burgers, with seasonal tat in several aisles. Hate the place, how I wish it would get taken over by Coop or even Sainsburys!
It's just in the bakery section... it's called a victoria ring.
It will make your teeth fall out and your bank statement red.
It is worth it ;)
^ wow it certainly LOOKs worth it....how can u be sure that it's vegan if you don't mind my asking?
OMG i had one of them victoria rings the other day was so excited when i found it it was fantastic and i think it was only something like 98p
Just found it online...thanks for that information, I didn't know there was such a list.

I like the Asda vegan mixes. I agree with Pob in that the burgerss are nicer! I chill the mix in the fridge before I fry them and it stays together well.
The lincolnshire style sausages are nicer than the standard pork ones. Yummy!
i didnt even know there was a vegan list thanks for posting the link :) and what a list pity they dont make it easier for us and actually label them vegan
Yes, thanks for the list as well
I see it lists 'Meat Free 2 Chicken Style Fillets 230g' in the frozen section - does anyone know if this is a mistake or are they back to being egg free?
i went the other day to look at them fillets but the ones in my asda still have egg in them hopefully next time i go they will phaze them out :)
Well done for finding the list.... I couldn't find my bookmarks..... but I did find this

Tada! Links to most of the supermarkets vegan lists. Who would have thought M&S would have one?
they've had one for a while, but it was notoriously full of mistakes... there was a discussion about it somewhere on here a while back. having had a quick skim of the link it looks like they've done a better job with this one on the whole (they have sneaked in a 'Meat Duo 683562' on page 4. )
there are lots of interesting things on there, for example a vegan summer fruit pudding i'd never have thought to look at.
we recently tried the sausage and burger mix and they are both delicious! we're having the burgers tonight actually!
pob, i've found if you make them in advance and put them in the fridge for maybe, an hour, they solid up a bit more - and try not to move them around too much in the pan too!
That would require either forward planning, or a delay in stuffing burgers down my throat. Neither of these are likely to happen!
I have tried frying them and they work fine without refrigeration. I find it easier and less messy to bake them, anyway, so that's the way I go.
To the sausages we usually add onions and/or spring onions, shape into fat burger shapes and bake them, too.
