New vegan cupcake and pastry blog
I've loved baking since I was young and over the years I have written tons of journals of cupcake and pastry recipes. I went vegan about two years ago and have since been working on re-making all of my recipes vegan. I recently created a blog to capture all of my recipes and was looking for a group of like minded people to share them with.

I would truly appreciate any comments or feedback. Thanks so much.

Hi TeresaAnn
I cannot access the blog via Facebook (don't do FB) so I went in via the blog itself - link here - http://kindofalotocupcakes.blogspot.co.uk

In response to your comment, I had no idea Guiness wasn't vegan. I actually don't drink so I am unaware of animal products in alcohol. Thanks for the tip though, I'll have to look into that more next time I bake with alcohol.

Thanks =)

Regarding the suitability of alcohol, Barnivore is very useful

I think Guinness in the US is vegan, while Irish Guinness is not.
I love your blog by the way! Veganism always needs more cake! :)
Re: New Vegan Cupcake and Pastry Blog
Guinness in US is not vegan, unless you get the extra stout.
Re: New Vegan Cupcake and Pastry Blog
LOL I don't know! It's good though.
Re: New Vegan Cupcake and Pastry Blog
Guinness in the US is the exactly the same as Guinness in Ireland, the UK and western Europe; it's all brewed at St. Jame's Gate in Dublin. There is one exception however, the extra stout available in the US is brewed in Canada, under licence by Labatt. This is why, theoretically at least, it may be vegan. I don't know if it actually is vegan or not, I've heard conflicting reports.

Thanks for clarifying that :)
What makes stout extra stout? :)
Eating too many of TeresaAnn's cupcakes make me extra stout
I may just have to attempt some of these - TeresaAnn you are a very, very bad woman, I'm trying not to eat too many cakes - and all I seem to do is make and eat more now :-) Oh well, have to live.

You should definitely try some and let me know how they come out =)
Re: New Vegan Cupcake and Pastry Blog
Hi TeresaAnn
I made the vanilla cupcakes (that have the blueberry maple frosting) and they were very easy to make, tasted lovely raw (I scraped the bowl out :-)) and they came out very well.
Hubby tested one and thought it was delicious, and then I put them all in the freezer. I was going to put some frosting/buttercream in some, but he said he liked them plain, so saved myself a bit of work.
But I will use your recipe again, it's got a star on it. Thank you!
