St Leonards-on-Sea: New vegan cafe

I just wanted to let people know that a friend of mine is opening a vegan cafe in St Leonards-on-sea. She is hoping it will be open in March. Hastings and St Leonards are actually getting better and better for vegans. We even have a pie and mash shop that sells vegan pie and mash. She's trying to raise some extra money to help get things up and running. You can give a donation and depending on the amount you will get a meal in the cafe. Hiya! I'm originally from Hastings and spend a few months here each year, but I'm based in Vienna at the moment (great for vegans!). I don't have Facebook so can't access the pages; thanks for posting though!

Moose's Kitchen is now open and I feel very lucky to be working there. We are a totally vegan cafe, so not even milk for the coffee. We have a choice of soya, oat or rice milk. Everything is homemade and is mainly organic and local. If you are in the Hastings area why not pop in? It's one minutes walk from St Leonards on Sea station. Thanks Harpy, it's been busy so far, I've been doing extra hours which I'm glad about. We've also had two private parties, which was very hard work on top of a day in the cafe. It's been going less than two weeks so early days, but looking very good. A few people have been surprised at the lack of cow's milk, but no one has walked out yet. Everyone has been very positive about the food as well. So hopefully we are getting people to consider becoming vegan by giving them tasty food.

Ha, ha I'll see what I can arrange. Although we haven't actually had chocolate cheesecake on the menu yet, I will mention that to my boss. We had some really lovely raw chocolate brownies last week. The staff are always hoping that they don't all get eaten, so we can finish them off.

We are on happy cow and trip advisor although there is a bit of confusion about our name as it was originally going to be called Lovefoodcafe but is actually called Moose's Kitchen as another cafe called Love Cafe opened in St Leonards!
