that's a good point... after I deleted the pic the conversation somehow kept on going for a few days! I don't know how to find it though, now that it's over. :/

I bought Vegan Comfort Food for a friend for Christmas. Do you like it? The food looks delicious! I'm thinking about buying it for myself.
I like it a lot. I have made the buffalo bites many times, as well as dishes like orange tofu, the baked ziti, and the tortilla soup. I would say the recipes are not as creative as Isa's, but they are easier and tasty. I have her second book, Vegan Celebrations, but have only made the red velvet cupcakes so far.
easier and tasty sounds good to me!
I hope no one ever takes this thread literally and posts a picture of food they've eaten, though, actually there's been a few that do look a bit like that.

Home made potato wedges, mushy peas, vegetable burger, ketchup, spinach & grated carrot salad with a olive oil and vinegar dressing.
Not a very good photo but I was impatient to get stuck in. This is a small amount of the Indian takeaway we had for my birthday meal this evening.

We had rice, lime pickle, mango chutney, potato cakes, vegetable samosas, subz masala, black dahl, saag aloo, popadums, chapati's, mixed chopped vegetable salsa thing.
Yum! I love me some samosas...
I have never had a lime pickle though; I'm not sure what that is.
Pickle as in the form of preservation, not as in cucumbers that have been pickled. It's preserved lime with some added spices and it's really quite sour and potent. It's the bit that looks like sick next to the orange blob (mango chutney) in the bottom right hand corner.

In process of cooking yesterday - tofu and vegetable stir fry. 10 mins preparation, 10 mins cooking. Now who can argue with that? Complete with genuine steam.
Ingredients: tofu, green beans, broccoli, asparagus tips, celery, mushrooms, garlic, mange tout - all stir fried in sesame oil and a soy, lemon and ginger sauce to finish. Total 450 calories per serving.
the greens look gorgeous on there greyowl..and the steam too. nom
Well thank you very much .... had to include the steam to prove it was 'live' - in a strictly non-animal sense, of course;)
Sorry for the poor picture, I took four but they all came out blurred, think the lens must be dirty.

Not a great picture, I really should start taking photo's of the dinners I make Enchantress as I always make sure hers looks nice and don't bother with mine.

baked gingery garlic tofu and proper nice noodle soup
adzuki beany salad..had a really nice cranberry and balsamic dressing on it
ever ace scrambled tofu
plaiun greek salad and blob of hummous
Ohhhhh, that tofu looks LUSH!! I  baked tofu.
Emma that tofu and noodle looks like the business.
yeah sure!
boil the kettle get a big pan
put in some marigold stock powder in the pan..pour on boiled water..get the stock rolling. can make it quite strong
slice up red chilli, ginger, garlic
slice up veg of your choice - onions? brocolli, small florets, mange tout, carrots, mushrooms, red peppers, owt you want/have floating about.
pop in the pan some noodles, i usually have spinach ones or tomato ones, use ramen, somen, whatever you like. have them cook a few minutes, tease them so theyre cooking evenly..maybe say something like " ha ha, im going to eat you in a minute, whatre you gonna do about THAT then?"
pop in everything youve just sliced up and let it simmer for just a few minutes..like 2 or something.
squeeze in lemon juice, slart in soya sauce
its ready pretty much.
can put on some toasted sesame seeds, drizzle of some sexy oil, slanty sliced spring onions, whatever you like or just as is.
ladle up..and eat.
the tofu was just sliced and pressed so it was kinda dry, scored slightly and marinated in soya sauce, ginger, agave syrup, that kind of thing. greaseproof paper on the grill, spray it with cooking oil grill it, turn it, grill it a bit more
Thank you so much! Fantastic! I've had my dinner and am still getting hungry thinking about that soup. Will have to make it asap. Am living without a proper kitchen most of the time at the moment, but as soon as I can, I'm having me that soup! :D
its pretty cool cos it takes under ten minutes to prepare and cook

ah thankyou nice people
risker, there surely isnt nearly enough food on that plate?!
There was plenty actually, looks less than there was.
Time to add a few more pics! I'm living in Paris for six months; the home made cakes are from the occasional trip home, but I don't have a proper kitchen in Paris so can't cook there. :( (But can get yummy food at eg the Loving Hut) :D

I don't have any good pictures of savoury food to share at the moment. This is because when I have eaten out, I am so hungry that I start devouring the food before I remember to take a picture, and have only calmed down once we've got to dessert! And when eating at home in Paris, my pictures all look rubbish because I'm eating off brightly coloured plastic plates that don't exactly make the food look droolsome... but I have to say, Paris is better for vegans than it has ever been before. At least twenty (no really! Maybe more like 30!) different flavours of vegan yoghurt, a ton of different kinds of tofu, seitan and mock meat options, the best vegan cheese I have ever tasted, and traditional French staples such as fresh baguettes, carottes rapées and tabbouleh. Nom!
The black Forest gateau looks amazing, I've wanted to make (or have someone else make for me) one of those for ages.
Rainbow, you're so lucky that you can go to the Loving Hut! I went to one when I was in Tokyo and I loved it! Unfortunately there isn't one here in Barca :( Also all of your cake pictures look amazing!
Thanks guys! Blueberries, who needs Loving Hut when you have Gopal, and Lujuria Vegana? ;) Their cakes are quite possibly the best I have ever had. *drools at the mere thought of them*
Risker, thanks! Give me a shout if you're in the London area after July, and I might be persuaded to make you one. :)
I'm in the London area after July! (I wasn't but am now :D)
All right! Black forest gateau party in East London in August! Me, Risker, any other takers? :D
^ In a heartbeat!
I may have overindulged just a tad on the ol' pizza tonight.
Excuse the shitey IPhone pic.

Yes, I ate it all and now feel a little ill as a result.
Not too ill to want some of that cake mind you.
Hey Rainbow, random question. How do you feel it is being a vegan in France? I was told they really aren't accommodating to us. I figured with that and what I hear about the attitude towards Americans, I should avoid the country all together.

Chicken-style burger with all the trimmings, including Toffutti mozzerella, and a delectable strawberry muffin from Gopal here in Barca
The vegans I know that have been there seem to really like it and they do have lots more vegan products now! And there's even a vegan b&b with a restaurant that sounds fantastic! http://www.gentlegourmetbandb.com/
And Rainbow, your cake looks AMAZING!!
