Soya whipping cream for Millionaire shortbread
Hi guys,
I wanna make this recipe http://www.parsleysoup.co.uk/getreci...ire_shortbread and was just wondering if anyone knew where to get soya whipping cream? Is it just the normal alpro soya cream? I dunno :S
Cheers! I'm looking forward to making this one!
Re: Soya whipping cream for Millionaire shortbread
No!!!!!!!! Make sure it's the whipping cream, not the pouring one :)

I made the caramel layer the day before yesterday actually, as a filling for chocolate eggs. Worked really well. I made some big rolo like things in my mini muffin tin too :D

Re: Soya whipping cream for Millionaire shortbread
Ok just been to Asda then Waitrose before my bf got too tired. Couldn't find these anywhere. Where have people been buying them? And what section are they in? :'(
Re: Soya whipping cream for Millionaire shortbread
Yeeeaaah :D Got it in Tescos yaaay so excited
Re: Soya whipping cream for Millionaire shortbread
Yay :)
Well I've never cooked sugar like that before! Was a bit scary.
Ate some shortly after making it and it was gooey and sickly but still nice! Much better this morning after being in the fridge.
But my tummy feels funny o_O
Re: Soya whipping cream for Millionaire shortbread
You're not meant to eat it all at once ;) (But I'm sure I would if I made something like that.)
Interested to hear you found the cream in Tesco's - is it a very big branch?
Re: Soya whipping cream for Millionaire shortbread
Yeah it's huuuge. Found it in the organic section
Re: Soya whipping cream for Millionaire shortbread
Thanks for the tip-off danaeonyx - we do have a big one a couple of miles away so a trip to it might be called for.

Don't say that! I feel guilty! :)
Re: Soya whipping cream for Millionaire shortbread
I have a carton of Cremovita and a carton Soyatoo (which I think are pretty much the same thing - Taste/Ingredients/Nutrition), I'm planning on making myself a trifle for Easter Sunday lunch and using Cremovita on top (it needs to be used first cos of the use by date), but I've just been and bought some Strawberrys which would taste great with Cremovita.
Does anyone know how long the Cremovita lasts once it has been opened? Would I be able to open it tomorrow for my Strawberrys and use the remainder on Sunday or would it have gone off by then?
Re: Soya whipping cream for Millionaire shortbread
I think it'll be okay - if I don't want to use the whole carton I snip a very small hole in one of the lifty corners and just squirt a bit out, trying not to let too much air back in, then I fold the corner down again and tape it up (if I can find any tape :))

Thankyou twinkle I will try that, if it does go funny by Sunday I will just have to open the other carton, but I think that your way should be OK!

http://www.britstore.co.uk/photos/Cr...g_Cream300.jpgDoes anyone know if this product is still available in the UK? If so, where, and if not is there an alternative soya whipping cream available? Thanks.
Re: Soya whipping cream for Millionaire shortbread
Last I heard Granovita were having trouble getting stock from their supplier. You could always try the soyatoo range, you can get it at loads of online shops including Veganstore & Veggiestuff
