I forgot to add The Beautiful Girls
lol that's a good way of telling someone isn't into dance music, they refer to it as techno
And I have to say a group a friend is in, The Impossibles :) http://www.theimpossibles.com.au/
I saw Ben Folds live last night. Turns out my earlier post was completely and utterly wrong; he's not Australian at all. Somehow I'd got it into my head he was from Adelaide.
No idea how I got that in my mind, as it seems he's American through and through. I mean, the clue is in the songs he writes and his accent, I guess.
I am a moron.
I'm not an Aussie, but The Living End are frickin awesome
The Living End are about to release a new album too. I like their new single 'How Do We Know', the intro is awesome.
I really like Children Collide's new album and I'm going to see Dukes of Windsor this weekend (saw them support The Music in July and they were a lot of fun)
I'm also looking fwd to all of the Aussie acts playing the BDO like Birds of Tokyo, Cut Copy & the Living End.
I love The Waifs and have seen them twice. Butterfly Boucher is pretty cool too, I saw her supporting Sarah McLachlan a couple of years ago.
I recently saw Ned Collette and Snowman recently. Ned Collette was pretty good (he was who I went to see); Snowman were dire. The recordings they've got up don't do justice to the sonic assault that is their live performance. I did ask the girl on the merch stall what the idea was with booking them both on the same bill - "They're both Australian."
Are there any aussie bands or artists that are vegan? I know Frenzal Rhomb and Kisschasy but any more? There were a few bands at world vegan day this year but I don't remember their names... Rosie Burgess i think was one?
I'm really enjoying the psychedelic rock sounds of Tame Impala. I heard them for the fist time last week.
