Quick question on The Arthritis Society
Hi All,
I live in the UK but a friend has asked me to sponsor a walk she's doing for The Arthritis Society which is a Canadian charity.
I was wondering if anyone knows if the charity support or carry out animal testing? I can't tell from the website and am not sure how to find out.
Thanks
Becca
Re: Quick question on The Arthritis Society
I'm not sure how worldwide this is, but PETA has a helpful list!
http://www.caringconsumer.com/resources_charities.asp
Edit:
- I totally just read "UK" and completely ignored the Canadian part. Which is sad because I'm Canadian, haha.
- That PETA link I provided doesn't seem to have the lists it used to, just redirects you to this link: http://www.humaneseal.org/search.cfm
- According to Humane Seal link, The Arthritis Society in Canada does fund animal experiments. :(

Hahah at 'major post fail'! :D
Thanks a lot for the info, I feel bad as I contributed to it last year, without thinking.
At least I know now.
Re: Quick question on The Arthritis Society
No problem. :) Unfortunately the majority of charities contribute to animal testing due to the nature of the research required. I get pretty excited when I find one, especially one that is relatively well known, that doesn't!
Re: Quick question on The Arthritis Society
just for info, according to Animal Aid's list here, the UK Arthritic Association don't fund animal testing. :)
