I would like to come and live with you and have you cook for me.
Please say it can be so.
Seriously, that is really my kinda grub. Lovely! I'm suddenly starving!

Aw thanks, that is very sweet of you! Haha, maybe if we reverse it... France sounds nicer than Wisconsin ;)
Jamboxrock- wow your foods looks crazy delicious! I'm really excited to try that banana coffee cake recipe. I have a bunch of bananas ripening in my kitchen right now that I was going to make into muffins, but now there is a change in plans.
That is exactly what my first thought was!
Ok, so since I was unable to find this thread for a while I have quite a few pictures to post.

I used the basic recipe for the orange-toasted pecan-golden raisin rice salad as before but switched it up by adding dried cranberries and fennel on top of a bed of pea shoots. This was my first time trying pea shoots and they were really good! Crunchy and fresh

It looks like the plate is floating next to a wall! MAGIC!
MMM I have been enjoying a lot of Asparagus this last few weeks. Shame it costs quite a lot though just for a couple of small bunches from the stupid supermarkets... £4.00 for a few whole ones or £2.50 for 2 packs of some asparagus heads in a small package. hehehe
this makes it look like we always eat chips in our house, but these tofu burgers were worth photographing...........

wow tofu burgers? did you make them? and the chips are a necessity with burgers, right Cobby?
he-he, chips go so well with burgers and salad............
no, i didn't make the burgers, i cheated and bought them (engine shed brand) they were delciious. My son didn't like his so his dad ate two of them!.
Or colslaw:) I love Engine Shed tofu products and the cafe since visiting at Easter but cant get them here!
Will post some pics of the wedding food I had yesterday having feared Id struggle as a vegan I was so well looked after by the catering team!

It was not vegan but made up of different types of cakes - dairy free, wheat free and the lady made the 2 vegans cakes and wrapped them to avoid cross contamination and so she could write the ingredients on:)

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...2/IMGP5760.jpg
She can do whole vegan wedding cakes and other cakes:)
I also had vegan burgers and sos in the eve but didnt take a pic of those, oh and they got some yummy bread in from the Authentic bread company in Gloucester! I was so pleased and impressed by the level of vegan knowledge and catering at this venue
that's excellent, and what a great idea for the wedding cake, having a mix of large and little cakes - no wastage.
ooooh this looks great... actually I might do this for the wedding cake I have to make end of the month... we had planned on only doing cupcakes so everybody can pick them to their dietary needs (we have omnis, vegans and some people with severe allergies), but a big one wouldn't hurt.
Lovely wedding cake, so nice they made a mini one suitable for you as well!
Jambox that BananaCoffee cake looks delish, will have to try making that.
I pm'd the mods and one replied saying "the thread was temporarily moved over to the area for paid subscribers, and will be moved back June 1st" not sure why. I've replied asking if this will happen every month and how do you become a member.
I'll tell you what I marinated the tofu with when I get home and find what I wrote down!
I am going to start cooking/baking again so I can post on this thread.
Although my baking isn't fancy as I have none of these fancy decorating things and frankly...I just can't be arsed!! I want to eat it now not in 5 years.
wow alison, what a lovely spread - the cake looks fab - and so nice for you to have some vegan cupcakes. love the dragons on top!
All the food looks so yummy:p
I want the burgers Cobweb! Im drooling!:bigsmile2: And chippies!
Mmm a veggie burger would be soooo good right now, I've just done yoga so am having a biiiig green smoothie instead.
Some stuff from my weekend:

I made g-free choc and vanil cupcakes and avocado-tempeh sushi for a vegan picnic we organised at Manly Dam

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2390/...45113b.jpg?v=0
And later I made gingerbread shaped like tenpins and cupcakes for a friend's 25th bowling party
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2212/...b7dbe2.jpg?v=0
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3015/...e68b83.jpg?v=0
The gingerbread got a bit jumbled during the car trip so the red icing got on some of the white and one cupcake is missing because as I set it all up a friend came and stole one :)
Can you live here and take me bowling for my birthday?
ooooh I see sushi and cupcakes and shrooms *swoons*
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Banana Bread from 'The Dirty South Cookbook'
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...ures002-10.jpg
looks yummy!
how did it turn out?
have u made anything else from that book?
i'm afraid of it cuz it barely has any measurements!
Its absolutely yummy, needed a bit longer than the cooking time given in the book (about an extra 20 minutes at a lower heat) to get the middle to cook.
The lack of measurements is a bit weird but it can literally be thrown together in less than 5 minutes which is gooood!!:)
I haven't made anything else from it....yet!:)
that spongebob character appears to be jumping out of that marvellous cake! SURPRISE!!
Hehehe, it's my daughters keyring, Patrick (for that is his name!) was very happy as it's his favourite cake!:p:D
