    Re: My daughter's homework (Help!)

There you go, a picture of a big painful bladder! :)

Instead of using a humidifier I place bowls of water around the house near heat sources. Which my cat thinks are her private watering holes! I...

Re: Occasional slips and ongoing food cravings

I find myself wanting yogurt, then I remember what it is. I would never have it, I just wish there was good soy yogurt options around here. I can find So Nice, which is OK, but really sweet.

    And...

I don't mean to upset or insult any of you that slip-up and fight your gatos for their cheesy food. I should move over to the drunk only thread.

Re: Occasional slips and ongoing food cravings

Seriously that is gross. I can't imagine being so hard up for cheese. It is like alcoholics drinking cough medicine. That is a hard core cheese gotta-have it craving!

Saucy, are you sneaking you kittie's cheese treats? Do we need to stage a wee intervention?

    Is this a detox thing?

I have little red zit like things on my arms and thighs. Not a lot, but I typically don't get acne or bumps on my body (just a little on my face). I became vegan 3 weeks ago, and before that was a...

    Re: Cow-free Beef Proposed

Yeah, I can't even begin to imagine how they would 'grow' it. I keep imagining Matrix like rows of throbbing meat blobs. Mmmmm.

    Re: Cow-free Beef Proposed

I wouldn't eat highly processed chemical food made in a lab, like Kraft Dinner, so I wouldn't eat this either. Beside the point that it is meat, god knows what they do to it in the lab.

    Meat made in a lab??

    Hi All

I was watching a Canadian news show yesterday and they reported on the potential for meat to be grown in a lab. I don't know how it will work or if the cells it grows out of is originally...

    Re: Process of being vegan...

Ecco Bella is supposedly vegan. The line is sold at Trade Secrets and maybe Choices.

Re: Converting old recipes to vegan friendly ones

I've used Earth's Balance, a butter substitute, with success every time. Tofutti, or whatever, makes a cream cheez that bakes like dairy cream cheese.

I have also found that almond milk is...

    Re: Process of being vegan...

If you live in Vancouver, there is always Choices (grocery store) on W. 16th and about MacDonald. Very good selection and cheaper than your yuppie veggie places like the one at W.4th and Vine....

    Re: PETA killing animals?

Side note about cats and roads. You rarely see a dead cat on the side of the road. Sometimes, but rarely in comparison to all the skunks and racoons. I swear my neighbour's cat looks both ways before...

Re: One Food for the Rest of Your Life

Basil pesto with pasta and cherry tomatoes. Or just pesto. I love the smell of it and the taste of it and the look of it. Heaven.

    Hi Florence

Both my parents moved to Canada when they were quite young. I don't have any living relations in Scotland anymore. Although, I hope some day to live in Scotland, Glasgow in...

Re: On a quest for real vegan ice cream

There is also Sucanat (stands for Sugar Cane Natural). I am assuming it is unrefined from what it states on the back of the package:

"Organic Sucanat is made by simply crushing the sugar cane to...

    Spelt seitan

    Hi everyone

Is it possible to make seitan from spelt flour? I have read that wheat and spelt are very similar, so I assumed spelt seitan would be available. But I really can't find anything...
