I have the book and have made various recipes, all very successful :) I NEVER make the icing though - too much sugar like you say. Plus I like to let the taste of the cupcakes themselves shine...
How cute are they!!! Those are gorgeous, well done you *drools*
Go with muffin cases and trays.
I fear not...
I've recently made the Lime and Coconut ones - they were so good! But perhaps even better were the Almond ones, with apricot jam in the middle.... so so good!!!
^ Snap :D Mine tasted good, but were decidedly scone-like
It's strange but I've had more luck with the fancier cupcakes than the "basic" ones - the latter have been complete disasters...
Eclectic one I think if they stick to the liners it means you're being too impatient!!! I find they detach themselves from the liner better the next day.
Smoothie your cupcake frenzy sounded...
Yes, I did :) I followed the recipe to a T, so I don't know what happened. I also had a vanilla cupcake disaster; they tasted great because of all the vanilla (I love vanilla) but they definitely had...
No, not at all. They either use soy yogurt or apple cider vinegar, and one uses banana, but there's no egg substitute in there.

This has already been discussed in this thread - scroll up to Jamie's post, around number 20.
Thanks for the spray oil tip, BTW :)
Don't you find it more difficult to get the cider vinegar ones off the paper? Half of the cupcakes seems to stay stuck to the paper :(
I've just been using ordinary plain flour and they seem to turn out okay; I'm pretty sure this is what they mean. I've made the Gingerbread, Toasted Coconut and Golden Vanilla ones so far. The...
I'd say go with the vegan marg Jamie - I used to use marg all the time for making "butter" icing and it turned out great.
Maybe you could sneak some green tea solution in there somewhere? Not as strong, but better than nothing. I've just ordered this book plus Vegan with a Vengeance, so now I just have to wait  ...
Those pictures look amazing - that book is going on my wish list for sure!
