According to the person I spoke to on the phone these boots are made from 100% synthetic materials. She also said BHS don't sell any fur items at all, apparently this is a question they are asked...
Congratulations on the birth of Jeevan Blaze (great name!) :)
Lovely blog.
Congrats to Fiona from me :) She's such a tireless worker for the animals and deserves all the support she can get.
A good letter.
A programme called 'Who Killed the Honey Bee' has been aired a few times recently on BBC4 about Colony Collapse Disorder. All the exploitation seems to be taking its toll on these...
I was in Infinity Cafe at the weekend and apparently they have a new chef which is why things have changed a bit. I'm pleased to say there was plenty of vegan cake available. It was extremely busy...
This doesn't sound good :(
You'd think that in this day and age this horrible spectacle would be a thing of the past.
I was involved in anti-animal circus protests in the 1980s/90s and also attended many council meetings...
Sorry that you can't make the BVF. Wishing your husband well, Ruby Rose.
We'll throw an VF on-line party when they finally appear :D
Great answer and one I'll use in future.
Anyone seen these elusive Pure vegan cheeses anywhere yet? I keep looking in supermarkets to no avail.
This is good news, a veggie place in Worthing at last, thanks for posting, Gorilla :)
I used to go to the Gaia cafe when it was in Methvens, the people there were very nice and I'm pleased to see...
They must have been bombarded with vegan enquiries. This is the email I received :)
Looks promising. Pure are dedicated to being completely dairy free (so no casein), there's a lot of info about dairy allergy and intolerance on their website and their range of margarines are...
I don't live in Brighton but I visit regularly and I think 3 days would be enough to see Brighton's main attractions.
I wouldn't bother staying overnight in London. The journey from there to...
Worthing's a veggie/vegan desert, so different to Brighton.
I'm afraid that Seasons in Worthing is long gone, Gorilla. I presume you did an internet search which showed Seasons Wholefood Vegetarian Restaurant in Crescent Road? If that's the case the info is...
Vegan Village have a noticeboard - you could put an ad on there http://www.veganvillage.co.uk/notices.htm
Good luck :)
I've seen a Tesla Coil in action a few times and I have a couple of those cool plasma balls.
Darwin wasn't a vegetarian, it's just one of those theories that gets perpetuated on the internet...
This is from the latest 'The Week' magazine.
This was bound to happen...
Me too. It's pretty good on pizza as well, I mix it in with the pizza sauce. Carrot dipped in hummus is very tasty.
Honestly, what utter nonsense. You'd think that particular piece of misinformation would have put to bed years ago. I'll be getting in touch with them to point out their glaring error.
If you go back a few decades the stereotype veggie was thin, pale and wan and lived on a very brown coloured diet of lentils and whole grains - all very Neil from the Young Ones. Now the choice of...
It's still not too late! I'll bring a vegan chocolate fudge cake to celebrate. Well done yum :)
Infinity has a great choice of delicious vegan cakes and I've always found the staff to be very helpful and friendly and I think the place has a nice, laid back atmosphere. There's an interesting...
I can't stand vegan cheese and have given up hope of anything ever being produced that has the texture and taste of 'real' cheese so I've learned to live without cheesy.
Another article espousing putting a sticking plaster over a gaping wound.
Yes, vegans are all grey  I bet you didn't know Mona Lisa was a vegan :D

I enjoy a good, stodgy dessert from time to time so I'd like to see jam roly poly pudding with custard on the menu of my dream restaurant and a good choice of cakes!
I know someone with Chrone's Disease and when it was first diagnosed this person was in a terrible physical state having lost a lot of weight and was severely malnourished. Along with her medication...
Only animal based foods contain cholesterol.
Yes, bring back the old one! They keep messing around with programme formats that really don't need changing. They did it to Ski Sunday which was just right for seeing lots of competetive skiing and...
Thanks :)
I like sosmix and am always looking for new recipes and I think the satay potato cakes are very inventive.
That looks absolutely delicious, vegcurry :)
Any chance of posting the sosmix and pecan nut roll and the satay potato cakes recipes? I'd love to have a go at making them.
Bright isn't he
We need to enlist badger lover Johhny Kingdom as a high-profile opponent of the cull.
I'm looking forward to the day when that particular myth has been completely dispelled - It might be a long way off...
Yes it is Aradia - also forgot to mention you need 2 teaspoons of baking powder - have added it to the recipe :)
The lime version is my favourite but it's more time consuming because you have to use a zester to get the zest form the lime which is a bit fiddly. Glace cherries also go well with coconut.
This is a cake I make regularly.
Lemony coconut cake
8oz self raising flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 oz desiccated coconut (more if you want it really coconutty)
4 oz sugar
4 floz veg oil
If you don't like the taste of the flax oil you can buy gelatin-free capsules, but they work out more expensive....
