Yeah it does say New 'Improved' Recipe but we just didn't notice it when we were shopping.
Sainsbury's have changed the recipe on their Moroccan Houmous, and it now contains honey. My BF was very upset after eating half the tub!
I wish they could put that in the allergen list, but I...
Oh so cuteeeee:
http://www.moofreechocolates.com/dairy-free-chocolate/products/dairy-free-advent-calendar.php
An advent calendar with a hamster on!! I want to get this for my sister, she flippin loves hamsters.
I thought the article was pretty good- really liked the way they had chosen outfits from vegan companies to be photographed in, which gave those companies (like Beyond Skin) more exposure. Thought it...
Are these deffo vegan!
I was looking at the shortbread today and couldn't see anything obviously wrong with it. The cookies are pretty good, but much more crunchy than the Sainsbury's ones.
Ok yes maybe the shortbread was a little weedy... but the cookies were fine!
THE COOKIES WERE ALWAYS TOO CRUNCHY?!!?
At least you got a reply... more than I got!
I really like Sainsburys Fairtrade red wine- its labelled vegan and 5 pounds. Very tasty!
All of their naan bread is now not vegan.
The only one that appears to be ok (but laballed vegetarian) is the low fat naan.
Looks quite simple, though I prefer to use food to colour things, not food colourings so I would probably make something more like angel cake.
Three flat trays of sponge, like a swiss roll recipe....
Yep in the Free From section!
I bought them in the Burgess Hill branch.
They're not bad, you just might lose a tooth eating them.
But it's the risk you take, being vegan.
Cookies with rainbow smarties on!
A bit like this:
http://www.uncleralphscookies.com/images/wholesale/rainbow.jpg
Though a quick google search came up with these for rainbow cookies, which...
I tried the Tesco rainbow cookies but they're super CRUNCHY!
No more cookies of the old recipe at all in my local branch.
GRR.
In the store I visited, they had some of the old stem ginger ones (though I think that I tried them once and wasn't too fussed?) but the chocolate chip cookies and the shortbread had changed- the...
Sainsbury's have changed all their amazing Free From cookies into eggy cookies :(:(
This is the worst thing ever and not just in amazing cookies not being vegan anymore.
ANGRY EMAIL AHOY.
If it makes you feel any better, the Waitrose spring rolls are yummier and vegan!
1000 nectar points, yes please!!!!
No, sorry- only looked at it in the store.
Angry email has been sent though!
WARNING!!
Sainsburys own label BBQ sauce says that its vegan, but it contains cows milk.
:mad::mad:
I don't know I'm afraid!
Well in my personal situation, I buy all my fruit and veg at a market [SO cheap!!], I buy tofu, houmous, sweets, cosmetics, shampoos etc at Food For Thought [health foodstore] or Holland&Barrett....
I'm pretty much completely given up shopping at Sainsburys.
Most supermarkets in fact.
Its so much nicer, the food is better&sometimes cheaper, and staff are friendlier!
Whaaat?!
This is getting ridicolous?!
The salt&vinegar twirls now have milk in them.
sjod$%#nfkfni###@@$#$^!!%YT%$^^.
Oh.
Haha.
Well this one tasted of water, lets leave it at that :)
Don't ever get Sainsburys basics Soya Milk...EWW!
It's like 90% water!!
I do eat a whole packet in one go!
Come on, it's only nine teeny cookies!
I noticed that as well, though I think they actually are, they have just labelled them veggie because of the cross contamination thing
NEVER get any of their pasta ready meals!
Bit of a generalisation, but I bought their tomato sauce penne pasta ready meal and it was YUCK! Pasta was really unevenly cooked, bits were dry/ hard, some...
Mmm the shortcake is so good!!
Really melts in your mouth and MMM.
Aww I would love for them to start selling Redwoods and Frys' stuff- just imagine being able to buy BACON there, or something 'meaty' to put in a sandwich, not just all the sandwich accessories!
...
I agree. I think they should leave it up to you to make the decision, because I personally would still eat something even if it may be on the same line- I just don't think the risk is enough to not...
I got this very prompt reply from Sainsburys:
Thank you for your email about product labelling for customers following a vegan diet.
I am delighted to let you know that we operate a simple easy...
I just sent Sainsburys a message, I went shopping yesterday and got so flipping frustrated!! Simple things like pickle aren't labelled, and I didn't want to buy something which is labelled...
Looking at the site, they seem really interested in veganism (I say this quite skeptically, I do think this all traces back to marketing and the appeal of more £££ but its vegan none the less) and...
The vegan labelling did say vegetarian and vegan.
I think I'll email them to ask where they stand with the whole labelling thing, because although I have grown to like Sainsburys, I travel there...
I'm getting so confused.
After enjoying shopping 100 times more in Sainsburys thanks to their vegan labelling, I am getting really worried that they're changing to just vegetarian labelling??
