Hey, anyone checked out the "foo-go" humous sandwich which can be found in the shops in rail stations? It only says "suitable for vegetarians" on it but all the ingredients appear vegan. Can anyone...
Yeah, that was the experience I had. Though in my case it was a porkless pie (and only happened once that I can remember, but once was enough as I had already taken a bite out of the thing).
Most of the pastry things are good if you're in a town centre and quickly need to get something to eat, but the porkless pie I had recently seemed to have a new recipe which I didn't take to - I...
Oh, sorry to hear that Leanne. :( Is this the first time you've been in hospital as a vegan? Because I've always heard complaints about their inability to provide vegan food.
Hope you're...
Oh, and I should mention this fast-growing Glasgow Vegan Meetup group, which both Declan and I are members of:

The link has info on upcoming meetups and...
Hey Leanne! Enjoy your alcohol at the wedding last night? :)
I am glad that I read this post *before* reading that swine flu (very infectious, not very serious) mixing with bird flu (not very infectious, very serious) is a worst case scenario. :eek: :)
Personally, I've always found the humous in the "Bugsy" sandwiches much too thinly spread. And there seems to be a bit too much dry grated carrot. But I assume that's why it's called "Bugsy" Of...
Well, if anyone here decides to give up or sacrifice anything for Lent, let's hope it doesn't result in you seeing people as giant cigarettes, beer glasses or roller blades. :)
OK, if other people are going, I think Saturday 28th March is OK for me...
Saturday 28th February is Animal Aid's Primate Day of Action and I'm planning to have a stall in Stirling for a postcard petition to stop lab experiments on primates. However, I'm needing people to...
As a Central Belt-ish person, I think I might like to come along too... I also know a few other Edinburgh vegans who I don't think are on this forum...
OK, on the evening of February 18th there's going to be a pot luck at the flat of two Glas-vegans... I'm not sure if they want their address posted here so if you want to know where it is I guess you...
See you all this evening! :)
OK, I phoned Mono, Stereo and the 78 for Meatless Monday info.
Mono = £10 for three courses, any time of the day or night
Stereo = £10 for any 5 tapas, 2-5pm and 7-9pm
78 = every starter half...
Have we decided on Stereo rather than Mono? Or will that depend on the time of day?
So we're looking at maybe Monday 19th (a week from tomorrow), in the evening? How is that date/time for others?
We don't seem to have heard from Amy/Rosa in a while... I would hope she'd be able to come this time since she missed last time.
What time of day are people wanting? Monday is my free day, and...
This sounds good, but if you don't mind I'd need to know a couple of days in advance as I might have to ask somebody else if they can work that evening instead. (I'm assuming it will be an...
So, shall we get some ideas going for another meet up?
Well, I do have a wallet with "Viva!" on it. :)
I guess I do feel awkward sometimes about referring to myself as "a vegan" (specifically as a noun) -- although I know nobody's going to think I'm actually an alien from the planet Vega, but it might...
I don't expect we could take our own food to Mono, so someone will have to volunteer to be the host. :)
It was great to meet you guys (plus Carl and Rebecca) and it's a shame Amy/Rosa couldn't make it -- well, hopefully there'll be another time. :)
We might want to pm each other our mobile phone numbers, so we can contact each other if there's any confusion on Friday evening itself?
Hey, would any of you folks mind if I came along as well? I actually live in central Scotland, not in Glasgow, but it's only a 50 minutes train journey away and there's not much of a vegan scene...
The good lions eat meat as well - as I remember, we don't see them kill or eat other animals, but they mention that they do it.
I'm interested by the reactions to Babe that have been mentioned on...
I hope to be helping out at this!
