Rice milk gets my vote. I actually prefer it to soya. I tried almond milk once and I didn't like it. One day I'll buy a carton of oat milk and give that one a try too.

I bought a tub of Sheese the other day and I think I prefer Tofutti. The two have a very similar taste but Sheese is a bit too salty for me.
I bought a small packet of 'cacoa nibs' about a year ago and I don't think they were worth the £5 they cost. As far as I can remember they were basically raw cocoa beans, which had been minimally...
I ate a 'starfruit' for the first time today. They're selling them at the Tesco near my office, along with several other exotic fruits I've never tasted before. It was nice. It's hard to describe but...
Great idea Kiran :) I'm going to try making that tomato bhath.
I've deep-fried tofu a couple of times and it's really, really good. I don't have a proper frier so I do what Tigerlily says, fill a wok with oil. Lots of things taste great deep fried, so whenever...
The garden looks great VBB :)
It's amazing how small the recommended daily intake is. I'm quite fond of salt and even though I don't eat processed food very much, I use a lot in my cooking and as a seasoning.
I would think that it's almost impossible to die from following a vegan diet. As long as you follow reliable info on nutrition, you'll almost certainly feel healthier than you did when you consumed...
Who knows? Maybe the goats in Sudan are irresistable :D
I have no idea if spelt is better for you than other flours. It's been a while since I've used it. I have made spelt bread in the past and I think it tastes much better than wheat.
I didn't know you could still get Irn Bru. I've never tasted the drink, I ate plenty of those orange bars when I was a kid though :D
Black tea with soya and lots of sugar, water, coffee, fruit juices now and then.

There is a vegan menu apparently. Try this: www.veggieheaven.com/guide/canterbury.html ;)
This morning I made raspberry pancakes and they turned out quite well. I mixed with raspberries into the batter. When they were cooked I added some maple syrup and it was like eating a cake :)

Yeah it's worth asking. The two stores have always sold it in the past. Perhaps I'm the only one who eats Tofutti in Bristol
I can't find Tofutti anymore :( The two health food stores I visit most often never have it in. Next week I'll have a look in Holland & Barrett because I could have sworn I saw it in there once.
I can't remember seeing swallows around where I live. Are they found mainly in the countryside? I could try and find an audio recording of their call, so at least when I'm out I can listen for them.
It's Fresh & Wild Organic Everyday Value muesli. I should have spotted those two key words and used my head. It was also the cheapest box on the shelves so it just goes to show you get what you pay...
Congratulations RachelJune and everyone else who's managed to give up coffee.
I have never drunk coffee in such amounts that I've become addicted to it. I'll have a cup every now and then but I'm...
I think I've bought the world's foulest muesli and with all the competition out there that's quite an achievement.
I think it's a good idea to have a weekly menu planned. Usually I'm too lazy to do this and some days I end up having to cobble something together using leftover ingredients. If you're an imaginative...
I think I've started to go off chocolate, so I won't be buying any Easter eggs this year. I ate a small bar of chocolate earlier in the week and it was just too rich. I still love other sweet things...
Remember everyone to post lots of outrageous photos, so those of us who didn't register this year will be first in line in 2008!
It sounds like a great opportunity Pisces. I hope it all works out for you :)
Apparently you can make a kind of vegan yogurt using kefir grains, which are tiny cultures of yeast. I have a book called Wild Fermentation and the author describes a friend adding some of these...
I may have to be circumcised at some point in the future. It will be for medical reasons. My foreskin doesn’t retract. If there are alternatives to circumcision I’m going to try them. I’m very afraid...
I don't eat out that often but if I do it's rarely a problem since Bristol is filled with places that serve vegan food. If I'm with a group and we go to a place I don't know, the results can be...
Breakfast: I wasn't very hungry this morning so I just had 2 strawberry Alpro yogurts and some drief fruit.
Lunch: Went to Pizza Express with the family. Had a large pizza with leeks, peppers,...
Looks like I've missed the registration deadline. I'll have to watch Glastonbury 2007 on the box, with the volume on max.
I really didn't like that. It's so amateurish. They should have cut out the humour and just made a simple, no-frills movie about the egg industry.
I live with my dad and we get on well. We're not particularly close. I only got the chance to see him on weekends while I was a teenager, so maybe that's how we came to grow apart.
I'll have to buy a new food processor first. The old one's completely knackered :D I could start buying Innocent smoothies in the meantime. I used to love them.
In the last few months I seem to have lost my taste for fruit. So instead of snaking on healthy stuff, I've been eating cookies, crisps, and sweets etc. Things are getting better now. I've started...
I tried making a hot drink with carob shortly after I discovered the stuff. Big mistake. It's incredibly bitter and the sugar I added didn't make it any easier to drink. Carob is delicious when used...
Those are very nice pictures. I'm sure they'd look much better if I had a decent graphics card! There was a gorgeous sunset over Bristol earlier on too.
I need a place to store all my severed heads :p
If you had a cool pantry it might be possible to live well without a fridge. You'd have to kiss goodbye to some vegan staples: soya, margarine etc. It would make life a lot more difficult. You'd have...
I ate fresh figs for the first time today. I thought they were ok. Mind you they were from a supermarket. They're probably a lot nicer picked straight from the bush in a warm Greek meadow!
Breakfast: Toast with hazelnut butter.
Lunch: Onion baji, tomato & oregano roll, chocolate crispy thing.
Dinner: I managed to put something tasty together this evening, which doesn't happen...
