There's a good book called Calciyum that is vegan and has high-calcium recipes.
I almost got tears in my eyes from reading that, the way you care about animals and how sick it has made you to think of the death and pain caused by omnivorous foods. Congrats and just take your...
I've made a few things that were pretty good, but I wouldn't say they were over-the-top great or anything.
I LOVE this cookbook.
Pear cardamom muffins
Thai noodle salad
Vegetable mochi casserole
I have this one as well and it's excellent!
Fresh & Fast Vegan Pleasures
I've been to Kaya's, as I have a good friend out that way. I am in Philly now, though, so it's about 1.5 hours. Don't know anything else except that there's a good health food store! Good luck,...

I've since had an arame salad and wakame. The wakame was horrible reconstituted from dried. The arame was tasty but black in color (I'm used to green). Thanks for that recipe!
Oh, there's a Tibetan restaurant near me that is wonderful. I, too, have had trouble finding their elusive recipes.
Haven't they heard of organic agave nectar or brown rice syrup?
You need carbohydrates for energy. Eat whole grains and if you eat potatoes, go for red or sweet.
Also, what do you consider "high protein"? That's subjective. Since I need about 40-50 grams of protein a day, I consider 15 grams per meal as the high end. What about you?
Also, make pancakes, waffles, and French toast with whole grain breads/flours.
Oats
Nuts
Any other grain
Thanks for the visuals, FR.
:p
I have pineapple, kiwi, mango, and papaya salad in the frig that I cut up this morning!
I think starfruit and kiwi are different...
Maybe you should use the oats instead of groats? I don't know...
Most orange and apple juices in the US are filtered with gelatin.
Thanks. I saw the Midorimart ones and it calls for a package of seaweed salad; I want to make it myself. The one at restaurants doesn't have cucumber or celery. I will check out the Splendidtable...
Does anyone have an authentic recipe for the appetizer-type salad that is served in Japanese restaurants?
Thanks
Actually, if you want to appear a certain way to others, making veganism look "easy," eat with them often and enjoy all of the foods you love. :) Go to vegan-friendly restaurants. Asking questions...
Amazing Grains by Joanne Saltzman
you don't have to combine proteins; that's a myth.
actually, whole grains are an excellent source of protein. 1 serving contains 8 grams. the average woman only needs 40-50 grams per day.

you should have brought up that unless he's a calf, he should be suckling his momma's boob if he wants some milk....or drinking plant-based.

How about some excellent Chai rice pudding (low in sugar, too!)

ARe you sure it's not vegan?

how much calcium are you talking? are you saying it's fortified or naturally there? if calcium is added, it should be in the ingredients.
I like to slice the potatoes thinly and then bake 'em til they're done, using olive oil spray.
Don't forget that whole grains are healthy and are higher in protein.
I bought a juicer and love it. Cantelope juice is better than...well, lots of things.
I love Great Good Desserts Naturally! I don't make desserts a lot, but all of the ones from that book came out great. :)
